Coil failure
Hi checked when car was made and this was July 2019 so should have had new plugs put in second service 6 weeks ago as know car was over 4 years old, this was done at Henrys Skoda Glasgow- I ve had a few replies here saying it’s 4 years when this should be done I would have thought it is their job to notice this rather than me work out here ?? This was only the cars second service…and put it in there in the hope they, being a Skoda dealer, would do everything well. It had an oil change and a basic tick ✔️ sheet done that all was ok. I’ve kept the 2 plugs and the coils that were removed by RAC, cost for 2 plugs and 2 coils was £125. Will I have any come back with Skoda dealer if this was missed as feel it’s unlikely this would have happened if plugs were changed in last service… new plug were definitely over due then going by all advice given here I will get the other plug changed immediately but would you change the working coil with the new plug or leave it. thanks

Coil failure
Sorry you’re right it’s a Skoda 1.0 tse SE technology DSG Only done 23500 miles so no spark plug change as yet. Had oil changed last service then a various ticked off check and all was ok….6 weeks ago. Why would 2 coils fail, plus plugs looked pretty dirty so these were changed as well. Should I be concerned !! Would you change the last plug and coil. Just semi retired so this is the newest car I’ve own and was hoping it would last a while !!!!

Coil failure
Hi Have a 3 cylinder automatic Octavia 1.2 2019 petrol that has suffered 2 coils failing today. RAC after a wait today plus expense as wasn’t a member, replaced the coils and plugs that were dirty. Car has only done 23500 miles - I am worried as car has low mileage and feel coils should have lasted much longer. Car was serviced 6 weeks ago at 20000 at Skoda dealership in Glasgow. Should I replace the coil that didn’t fail and have I any comeback with Skoda…,coils should last thousands of miles. Had a oil change last service any info thoughts/advice appreciated. John

Service around 22,000 miles oil change indicator
Car is now out of warranty and just had first MOT few months ago. Would you suggest a Skoda garage or would any reputable garage do this service and stamp book. Also would a Skoda garage /dealership do a better more thorough service ? thanks note Octavia DSG saloon model

2 years old/servicing
I own the car, it’s a petrol dsg 1.0 plate 19…..very happy with it it and for me surprised how nippy for a large 1.0 car. Thanks for info, may go to Hendrys Glasgow city centre? I am not going to Arnold Clark’s. Are there any other approved Skoda garages in Glasgow….not sure?

2 years old/servicing
Hi My 2yrs old Octavia 1.0 dsg is due an oil change and inspection service. Should I book into a Skoda garage or just go to a local reliable garage. Will this affect warranty? I don’t want to pay more than required as would think this would be a simple service? Car has done I think around 12,000 miles only thanks john

Wrong mileage- should I contact dealer
Ah well will get in touch. Your right regarding invoice.....kinda meant all the paper work that I printed off when I bought the car from their web site. Maybe no one would want that either I guess and it would be all the Dvla paper work that’s important. ..... you made be laugh at least roottoot. thanks everyone for chipping in....I am happy with car and the present mileage as it’s less than I thought.

Wrong mileage- should I contact dealer
I do low mileage so was thinking next year the mileage on Mot would be less that that on the invoice I have so would look suspect if I sold the car further down the line..?? Would someone ever ask for an old invoice as well as the usual documents?

Wrong mileage- should I contact dealer
Hi Already posted and it was agreed my mileage on new used car is lower than invoice due to perhaps km setting on...it is actually 5,000 lower (in miles) on the car and showed miles when I bought it fromArnold Clark. I am not sure whether this could cause be problems later on if I sell the car? Should I contact dealer to get invoice changed by the dealer or not bother. Car is less than 3 years so no MOT yet. Any advice appreciated.

Wrong mileage- should I contact dealer
Hi thanks to you both that would explain it. Not very often I win a watch !!! Will see if I can get service info printed off from them. Perhaps saved me a few quid not very often that happens to me when buying a car as not a great haggler. cheers

Wrong mileage- should I contact dealer
Maybe, so Iam not doing anything wrong and this is the actual mileage. You could be correct the km setting. Is there any reason I would need to change the invoice as I will reach that mileage soon enough I guess. There has been no MOTs yet, that comes next year. .

Wrong mileage- should I contact dealer
Hi just bought a car from Arnold Clark and the mileage on sticker and the invoice was over 15,000. Paid for car and never checked it but on the digital read out is just over 9, 913 didn’t notice this as was unable to use it for a bit due to fractured ankle. Cant see any other way to change it so is this correct nb not complaining if it correct. If it is any reason I should be invoice amended? Note date is wrong as haven’t adjusted it yetin

Eco mode
Ah found it, just in case anyone is reading. On the Octavia technology 1.0 , mine is 2019 there is no button but in the onscreen menus there is the facility to change the driving mode ( it’s called driving programs if I remember correctly?) good to know it’s there if I want to change it..... Thanks john

Boot nets
Thanks for that....sounds cheaper option. I hate feeling I’ve been ripped off. The Skoda net will be made very cheaply and just rebranded the net programme....sound more technical than they are
-
Eco mode
Thanks or info, guess I am always in eco mode? Will check setting in display....still happy 😃 as never had a car with so much tech....been behind for years!!
-
Eco mode
Will have look as may have missed something....it’s a new car (used) and technology has moved on since my last. Skoda -an estate 4x4. I am loving all the new tech and driving this car with dsg. thanks john

Boot nets
Well maybe take the plunge and buy but still think that at £48 they are over priced.
-
Eco mode
No there is no button for this just one for the parking sensors and another to turn off/on the stop/start function whilst at lights ect
-
Eco mode
Another question....how do you turn the eco mode off....Skoda Octavia 2019 technology. Had a look in manual and on the screen but couldn’t find any info or a button...can it be turn off or to normal? thanks

Phone holder between seats
Got my car and it came with the useless one. Think I won’t bother as think I wouldn’t use either as the sliding door bit under the ac controls looks fine for this. thanks anyway

Boot nets
Hi Have just bough 2019 technology dsg 1.0 hatch, and very happy 😊 would like to get some nets for boot but feel they are over priced via Skoda. Has anyone purchased any alternatives, I think the ‘boot net programme’ maybe comes with three nets...priced at nearly £50!!! I just feel this is too much for a net.

Phone holder between seats
Thanks a lot, will try and get them to make sure it’s there

Phone holder between seats
Picking up a used 2019 octavia techniques this week. Notice the phone holder thingy is missing. Do all models come with this small accessory, have iPhone....may ask them to include it....likely nicked from the forecourt like a lot of things. j
