Meteor grey vRS - what colour alloys?
Another black against grey, this time Moonstone Grey on my Passat: I think black wheels depend on the design as to whether they work or not...

Meteor grey vRS - what colour alloys?
Black: Anthracite: Black badges: I actually think dark bronze wheels would look really good against meteor grey...

What would you change about your Octavia?
My thoughts exactly. Golf is a bit small for three kids so I changed my Octavia vRS TDI 4x4 estate for this: 272ps 4Motion DSG Lovin' it 😊

My Amarok does this - mirrors fold when key is pressed to lock and then held down for a second; they only unfold when I turn the ignition on...

dtuk fsr+ installation
Battery wiring is only for an older type - ignore it. The boost sensor connects at the front of the engine, just near the bottom of the radiator. You can drive the car onto a kerb, or up on to blocks or something if you can't jack it up. You will need to remove the undertray - a few torx screws at the front and each side - to access the boost sensor. It may be possible to do without raising the car - I just used some railway sleeper offcuts I had, with some 3x2 in front to drive up.

Apus Alloy wheels seized on......
With bolts not fully undone, lower the jack slowly until the wheel touches the ground and dislodges from the hub, then jack back up and remove wheel.

2017 octavia headlight washers mot failure
They aren't meant to work every time, I assume the MOT tester knows this? The headlights need to be switched on (dipped beam), and it will wash the headlights with the first pull of the stalk after lights come on, then every third (I think it is) pull after that... Otherwise, it could be the hoses have come off somewhere - this can happen if sprayed when washers are frozen, as it's water pressure that pushes the washers out on their stalks.

Buy a 100,000 mile octavia
That is correct re the grille if going the dealer/official repair route, however it is possible to just replace the grille itself, but it requires cutting out the old and plastic welding the new one. It is a bumper off job, but that's no big deal. There are aftermarket grilles about too, such as the Superskoda one, but you'd be cheaper with one like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283820585969

UK configuration
I believe this is due to WLTP testing. It seems each car now needs to be tested with every possible configuration available. By grouping options into packs, it drastically reduces the overall number of possible configurations and thus the number of tests required.

DTUK Pedal box part number help.
10423712 or 10723712 will both fit. I had the 10423712 on a 2016 vRS TDI 👍 The difference is that model number 10723712 has app control. App is no big advantage IMO for the pedal box - if the controller lives in the cubby by the drivers knee, it's probably quicker and safer if driving to adjust there than to unlock phone and open the app etc. App for the tuning box is ideal as you don't have to open the bonnet.

The Mk3 Octavia TDI water pump thread
Many will be aware there is an issue with earlier Mk3 Octavia TDI water pumps failing earlier than can reasonably be expected. As far as I am aware, it's mostly 2.0 TDI's, but stand to be corrected. As there are already multiple threads on here about the issue, (and even though mine is a later car and hopefully not affected), I thought I'd start another (@john999boy if you think this is worth a sticky, it may avoid lots more duplicate threads?) The purpose of this thread is to bring all the info together to hopefully avoid the same questions being repeated, and for members to point dealers towards when they inevitably say "Never seen it before". So - as I understand it, the symptoms are usually a random sudden rise in coolant/water temperature, often followed by a warning on the dash. Switching off and back on again may clear this, but it will very likely return. Ignoring this warning carries the obvious risk of long term damage to the engine. Cars still under warranty will usually be covered, although some choose to pay to have the cam belt done whilst the work is carried out, and pay the difference. Members with cars out of warranty have had varied luck with getting costs covered, so maybe they could share their experience? So...please post: Year of registration Engine Mileage when fault occurred Dealer name & response (i.e. "don't want to know"/"yep, they all do that"/other) Warranty or goodwill contribution? Any other info. (Full Skoda service history/independent?) Someone may also be able to confirm when the revised part was introduced, and possibly even part numbers. Hopefully this will help a few people who may have this issue in future.
