Karoq SEL 1.5 TSI 2WD 18" Brag?/Miran? 30th Dec 2022
Mark-Surrey certainly started something here!.
The tyre on my 125/70 R18 tyre sits exactly flush with the boot floor.
A 215 full size tyre is going to sit 90mm +/- higher in my car.
The new boot floor in Mark's 560A kit has spacers under each corner that look to be about 1cm.
Maybe the well in the 2019 Karoq was deeper than the 2022 facelift.
On a favourable day I shall follow Carlston's advice and try one of my road wheels in the spare wheel space.
In the meantime I asked what would be involved at my dealership.
This is their breakdown:
Spare wheel set £102.99
Cover required for kit installation £64.74
Full size alloy wheel £570.60
Mid-range tyre £141.32
Fitting cost for mounting tyre and fitting spare wheel kit £33.00
Total Cost £912.65inc
The price of a new rim was a bit of a surprise.(So was the quoted labour cost!)
I've no idea what the £64.74 item is but it is shown as a required item 575 863 459A 9B9 on the 560A kit data sheet. (Which I do not seem able to insert here.)
The parts superviser says he is not 100% certain this kit would do the job and adds that the wheel is shown as "back order".
It would be interesting to see how the 560 2WD kit differs from the 560A 4wd kit.
I shall bide my time until I have tried a full size test but I suspect thr height differece will be too much for my purposes.
