  2. would rather get a spare chrome bit incase i mess it up lol, will try local scrappies. best place to get a new skoda logo?
  3. see i feel doing it by spray paint doesnt make it as glossy as by a spray gun, just seems to go on flat. will need to shop about for a body shop that will do it for a decent price.
  4. ive heard its best to use a zinc phosphate primer as it will let the paint stick to the chrome better?
  5. you think its risky trying it myself? where do you get a spare skoda logo? or can the old one be reused?
  6. yeh its a hell of alot nicer. ust not sure if doing it myself will work out well, especially in this weather. the cold can effect the painting im sure.....hmmm
  7. really? my bodyshop wanted £180 to do the handles door mouldings and numberplate recess and grill. i thought that was steep. wouldnt mind just £35 for the chrome bit
  8. rather than paying a garrage price to paint the silly chrome grill, wondered if anyone done it themselves with some colour matched paint, just by sanding, primer, paint and laquer? how did it turn out? photos if possible
  9. i know in my mk4 ibiza i had to drill out the rivets holding the standard speakers in place is it the same here? will i need to buy adapters for the front and rear door speakers? where can i buy them? and what size of speakers are the front and rear? thanks, the standard door speakers are rubbish and seen as im hopefully going to be buying a new headunit i may aswell upgrade the speakers too, might get a sub and amp aswell hehe
  10. i bought those adhesive fixing pads off the site, but if you also baught them, use a hair dryer to heat them up and also heat the bits there going to stick to as it "activates" the adhesive. mines wouldnt stick beforehand now they seem glued on, i hope lol. a couple of quick pics.

  18. aside from the book i have a service reciept i just found dated 21/08/10 and oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, brake disks and pads and also oil was changed. wonter why the book dated and stamped for this date only says oil change. also while typing and looking found another couple of sevice recipts with more than just an oil change, maybe ive read the service book wrong, aha my bad. might just give it a service anyways as my bro will get the parts from his work and service it for nothing, just need to pay like £30-40 for parts. and because he works for VW i get discount :D
