  1. Sorry if this sounds daft, but can someone please advise ( when ACC is active ), if the brake lights come on when the engine slows the car down to maintain the desired gap. ??   Reason for asking is that I followed a Mondeo Vignale for 5 miles yesterday, and the brake lights were coming on in a random fashion, but appeared to be as the Mondeo edged closer to car in front.  Would hate to think brake lights are activating constantly just to maintain the gap.  Thanks.

  2. In answer to your question to me, it looks as though the best solution is to have a " pedal box " fitted.  Now I haven't done this yet, as it's a Motability vehicle, and I'm guessing the insurance cover may be compromised.  However, the thought of another two years with this issue is bothering me.  Sport setting does help slightly, but it's not really a solution.  Hope this doesn't put you off, because the Superb is a great car, and I do honestly love mine.

  3. Another aspect to your enquiry mate.  I have hand controls on my Superb 3 estate, and I was absolutely astonished at the effort required to use the accelerator.  The power is not immediate ( as you might have read on other threads ), and therefore requires this additional effort because you are obviously " pulling " as opposed to " pushing ".   The ACC is a great boon, but I actually took the car back to the fitter to make sure the controls were set at optimum usage.  He checked everything over, and confirmed they were.   Just something to consider along with all the other decisions.  Best of luck to you with your search. Cheers.

  4. Appreciate your comments re cost Skidpan, but please spare a wee thought for those of us with complex mobility problems.  Very often such things as electric seats etc, can make a huge difference between whether or not a particular car is suitable for our needs !!

  5. Fair comment Blahde 2. Car is 10 weeks old, so I've definitely been lax about this. Problem is that I'm not a regular night driver, so ashamedly just ignored it. However, the lights ( as others have commented ), are pathetic compared to my Mk 11 Combi, so once festivities are over I'll be taking some action.

  6. Speedman - will be interesting to hear what you think when you get your car. I have the 190 DSG, and there is definitely a throttle lag ( which in my opinion is a worry. Especially noticeable if you want to join roundabout traffic and you get that " go for God's sake moment " when approaching traffic is heading towards you. ). Currently trying to contact a local VCDS guy to at least get the Audi throttle response.

  7. Gizmo. - forgive my ignorance, but how exactly does VCDS work. I noticed there is a Briskoda member in my home town ( Kilmarnock ) with VCDS. Should I just contact him, or does it need some more " formal " arranging. Reason I'm asking is that as was stated earlier, the acceleration is hesitant, and mine is compounded by the fact my car has hand controls owing to leg disabilities. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks.
