  1. Thanks for the replies, I have every intention of refusing the 'fix' until VAG group publish some data with regard to MPG, BHP, DPF refine etc. Although I'd had a letter advising that my vehicle was subject to the recall I've had no further correspondence say it was available.

  2. Just checked the vin number on the checker and got the standard reply:

    Dear customer,

a recall campaign has been found for the entered VIN xxxxxxx.

Please contact your preferred service partner as soon as possible, who will provide you with all necessary information and service to ensure your safety and car functions. If further assistance is needed, please contact the „ŠKODA Customer Hotline“.

I won't allow them to make any changes to the vehicle until I have documented results from VAG showing how the changes will effect BHP, torque, MPG and performance, after all these were factors I took into account before purchasing the vehicle. I would also like info on how any changes may effect the regeneration of the DPF.

The vehicle is only 9 months old and I love the vehicle how it is and would not be happy with anything less.

  3. My Yeti's have done various trip across the Channel, within 30 seconds of removing the key from the ignition you need to push the alarm button which is situated on the B post just behind the seat belt on the drivers side. This disables the interior monitoring and also the motion detection which stops the alarm sounding whilst the vehicle is being shipped.

  4. Assuming that your dealer is not so shoddy as to put back the prop shaft with only one bolt, is there any locking nut or ring on the one remaining bolt?

Would be worth checking the remaining one to see how tight it is, or if it's secured with locking nut or ring. I wonder whether they forgot to replace the locking nut or ring otherwise I'd be concerned if there could be a general issue with these bolts coming undone.

  6. If you use the car configurator it does not come up as an option - some I am wondering whether you are "using" it corrrectly, or xpecting something different - I find when I come to a halt a hard press of the brake pedal generally allows me plently of time to move my foot from brake to accelerator (ie HHold active) - it does not hold the car if you take your foot of the accelerator you must apply the brake again to activate it or feather the throttle.  Just a thought.

When I leave my house I have a steep drive to the main road. In both my previous Yeti's brake to a halt using the foot brake, check road is clear then move foot from brake to throttle whilst releasing clutch vehicle does not roll back. In the Monte Carlo with DSG brake to a halt using foot brake on the steep exit, move foot from brake to throttle car rolls back, only way to avoid is to do hill start using handbrake. Hence to reason I think it's inactive or not standard on my vehicle.

  7. Does anyone have a Monte Carlo DSG? The often incorrect brochure states that Hill Hold is standard with DSG, now either mine doesn't have it or it's not working. My last two Yeti had it both of which were manual so I am familiar with the system.

  9. It does amaze me that Skoda UK can produce a brochure that is littered with errors. You invest a lot of money in your vehicle and should know exactly what your are getting equipment wise. Any other product that was not as advertised would be returned for refund.

  10. Ok this has been going on for over 5 weeks and I've been without my Yeti. All start with a water leak and I suspected the sunroof.

Booked it in for the 19th January they gave me a loan car a bloody awful Chrysler Delta diesel semi auto. Needless to say 24hrs later they advised me that they were still in the process of stripping down to find the leak. I took the Delta back it was that bad, and exchanged it for a loan Rapid, much better.

The weeks past and more bits were ordered (various seals, sunroof cassette). Then eventually got the call that it would be ready a 1pm on the 12th Feb. 12.30 they phoned me to say that they weren't happy with the fit of a seal and re ordered it. 24hrs later I get the call that the car would be ready at 5pm.

Went to collect it and asked to inspect it prior to accepting it back. Apart from poor refitted trim there was a dent in the passenger door, damage to the O/S/F wing and bumper, also a mark on the rear bumper where it had been parked up against something.

Now the dealer made a point when I took the car in of taking photos of the car so they couldn't argue that the damage was there when I took it in.

I declined to have the car back and made quite clear that I was not happy to have it back at all. I left the dealer after they had filled the loan car with fuel.

On Monday the 16th I made it quite clear to the dealer that I didn't want the car back, and after a three hour meeting an acceptable offer was reached.

So tomorrow I finally hand back the loan Rapid and take delivery of a new Yeti Monte Carlo 170 DSG in red/black. It has a few factory options sat nav etc, but I have lost some toys off the L and K sunroof, leather etc, but I'm very happy with the deal.

So I'm now onto my third Yeti and after 5 weeks in a Rapid quite excited to be getting behind the wheel of a Yeti once again.
