  1. That's great, thank you. Rear wiper does not work for now, so thast one less worry! However, a worry is that since i got the car, the boot does randomly open, usually after i close the front door and start walking towards the back (intermittent, but irritating). but i guess the weight of the bikes would stop it going all the way up. Cheers.
  2. Hi all - long time since I've been on! Just wondering if I can use any standard bike carrier on the Skoda. It's a hatch with the long slanted windscreen (with rear wiper) as part of the boot. I know roof bars or tow bars would be better options, but I can't justify the cost for the amount of times I'd use it. Anyone had any experience? I've seen a Maypole 2 carrier at euro car parts (Maypole Rear Mounted 2 Bike Carrier | Euro Car Parts ) - and was hoping this would work - especially as the picture is similar to my own boot. Any help suggestions would be welcome. Kam
  3. Hi guys. Been a while since I've been here. My MK3 is due a major service and Skoda prices are through the roof. For my PCP, I need to get it serviced by someone that can upload the service history online, but that doesn't necessarily have to be a Skoda official garage. Apparently. If that is the case, can you recommend someone in the Leicester area that can do this please? (70,875 on the clock) Thanks.
  4. Hi. I have the Skoda Superb mkIII (65 plate) and happily been using cabled Android Auto. My OnePlus 7pro has just got a shiny Android 11 and I know it comes with Android Auto Wireless. However, is my head unit out of the question for this? I have the Canton with surround speakers and TV (not sure of model number). Or can it be made compatible with a software update? Thanks.
  5. Ok, I will test and measure... And report back.
  6. Im not sure the foot pedal is the problem, I was just saying the effect is like that. However, the foot pedal is a very nifty feature and I use it a lot when I have my hands full. I have a Faraday Pouch, but not checked to see if it still happens while key is in there. Like I said, it's not the key because if it was, there would be audible beeps as the boot opens which there definitely isn't.
  7. This is definitely a thing. I can't figure out a pattern, but it's definitely not the key fob as, when you open the boot with the keyfob, there is an audible beep and you can also then close the boot with the same keyfob button. When it happen 'roguely', it's silent whilst opening apart from the initial beep. Basically it's like it has been activated by the foot sensor of from within. Only pattern I can find is: 1. Mainly/usually after I've closed or locked a door and as I'm walking towards the rear - but now where near the foot sensor (still at the side of the vehicle. This doesn't happen all the time. 2. Luckily, I've only noticed it open when returning to my vehicle 2-3 times when I can categorically say it wasn't my keyfob. Problem is, when I've taken it in, I simply get a 'computer says no' response from the garage(s). Definitely a thing though.
  8. Hi. I have a 65 plate MK3 and I bought a 2 service plan when I bought the car last September. That (apparently ) included a minor and a major service. I'm on 47k now, so it's due a Major....but the dealer where I've taken it says this 'major' doesn't include the DSG oil and filter. Wants to charge me £209 for that. Is that correct? This is my first experience with newish cars, so not used to using dealers and what's meant to be included or not. Cheers guys.
  9. Mine came out of service and they couldn't find a fault. Which is what I thought they'd say. They guy said he'd email Skoda Technical. I don't know if I should record every attempt to lock the door (as that's when it happens usually), just so they can see it, although I don't know how they'd fix it, not know what the fault is.
  10. Yep, definitely using Android Auto all the time. Is that what the issue is? Surely not?
  11. Thats a shame as it's. Lovely phone. I've had them since OnePlus 1. Now have oneolus5. I thought it's with the head unit. I connect through cable, so not sure if that's an issue. I'll try just Bluetooth only and I'll also try another different handset to narrow down the issue.
  12. I have tried to search and had no joy. My Android (OnePlus 5) works perfectly with the Columbus. Except, when I receive a call. Handset doesn't ring and neither does Columbus. All I get is a blue bar at the top of the screen on the Columbus with the name of the caller and the option to accept or decline. But no sounds from anything. I've been through the sound menu and nothing obvious there. Any suggestions please?
  13. That's what I'm worried about. I hope it actually happens while I'm there.
  14. Definitely not as when the boot is opened with the remote key, a beeping sound is heard as the boot opens. In the random scenario, there is not beeping sound. Also, I've noticed that the boot button also doesn't work sometimes.
  15. Yeah, Gloucester dealer. Funnily, when I asked for the service book, they laughed and said service books and stamps were a thing of the past as it's all digital now. All i needed to do is ask any desler for a printout. I've been asking them for this since the day I bought the car and over half a dozen times since.....still waiting!!
  16. So, I bought the car on 26th September with 32,000 on the clock. I was assured that it had had a 'full Service' prior to my purchase. Now, with 34,500 (approx) on the clock, I'm getting an "Oil Sevice in 1,000 miles" warning. I only commute to work, mainly motorway driving. Is it normal for a service warning to come up so soon??? Or have I been duped with the ' full Service' at time of purchase?
  17. Magnetic brown? Mine is magnetic brown with cream interior. Nice contrast.
  18. I live in Leicester, but work in Stroud a course of days a week. I have a superb mkIII L&K 190 Would be happy to meet up.
  19. I have this problem, but ONLY after shutting one of the front doors. Within a second, the boot opens. No issue of the virtual pedal, as I'm generally only ever as far as the rear doors if and when it happens. Usually about 3/10 times. No pattern. Can't be my key as I have loose pockets and nothing else in the pocket with the key in. Also that it only happens (when it happens) after I close the front door. Almost like it's a feature!
  20. I've started to notice that after I close the front door (either), the boot randomly opens within a second or two. I'm nowhere near the virtual pedal, generally only as far as the rear doors by the time it happens. It doesn't happen all the time, but about 35%-50% of the time and probably a bit more frequently. But only after closing the front door(s). Is this a known glitch, or is it a feature I don't know about?
  21. one further question on this before i download 24GB....is the update only available via SD card? Or can it be done via the USB port too? I have a 32GB USB dongle thing but not a SD card and don't want to order one if i don't need it.
  22. What's the bloody difference???? Aaargh. I'm a green person and need details so stuff like this bugs me. Yours is B and mine is A. Your hardware is H50 and mine is H42....
  23. So what's the definitive way of knowing if it is Columbus or Amundsen??? I've posted a pic of mine above...
