Alun, I'm pretty sure that all the 1.9 pd 105 bhp models didn't have a dpf unless any of the 4x4 versions did? All 1.6 and 2.0 did have dpf's.

Yep same here, my 2016 S3 had the 24 hr clock but the 2020 S3 facelift seems to only have the 12 hr 😞

At that sort of mileage and the town driving you are probably better going for petrol. The diesels need a good run pretty much weekly to complete the dpf regeneration.
Jumping from a vrs to a Superb you will find that the standard suspension is a bit soggy. Worth looking at the Sportline which is a bit lower and firmer.

AdBlue didn't come in on the 150bhp ones until mid 2017 I think. All 190bhp ones have it.

I had a 2016 150 diesel manual until a couple of months ago. Traded it in with 150k on the clock. Needed clutch and rear shocks doing. Only failure I'd had was the water pump at 4yrs and 112k. Rest just routine servicing etc.

That's very interesting to know. I replaced mine with the cheapo Chinese ebay ones and they worked fine if a little noisier than the genuine ones. The garage gave me the old ones back so I'll have to have a look at the wiring and see if they are any breaks or bare wires.

Glad to be of help hopefully. I had the tyre man come and change them on my drive for me. The wear on the old ones was quite uneven but there was still quite a bit of tread. They were about 4 years old at the time I think. New tyres solved the noise problem straight away.

Could well be saw-toothing of rear tyres. My 16 Superb did it and it sounded like a wheel bearing. Had an advisory on mot for wear on rear tyres and changed them. Noise gone

Are you sure your 2016 Superb is Euro 5? I though all the Mk3 Superbs from mid 2015 onwards with the 150 and 190 engines were Euro 6.

I've just traded my 2016 sel for a 2020 sportline and the suspension is quite a bit firmer. Makes for a better ride as the old one was a bit soggy almost.

Yep had to change mine today as they wouldn't put new car on existing policy. £242 in March and £507 today.

If you do get any electric tailgate strut issues, there are plenty of pattern items on Ebay at under £200 the pair. Several of us on here have fitted them without issue and it's a huge saving on the reputed £1,000 ish Skoda are charging!!

Took mine in this morning and unfortunately the slave is inside the gearbox 😞 Not much point changing the slave without doing the full clutch. Had a couple of quotes around the £1,200 mark. Not sure whether to get it done or trade it in for a newer model.

Thanks Stevie, my mate said his slave cylinder was £150 ish so hopefully it's that and not complete clutch although with the mileage I'm guessing it will be getting worn.

Thank you both. I use a garage local to work, so will drop in tomorrow morning and it's only a 5 minute walk to work. Will let you know what they say.
It's a 2016 model on 150k so not to be unexpected I suppose. A mate at work has a 64 plate Octy 3 and his has gone with 80k on it, so I suspected it was likely to be this.

Afternoon all, over the last few days the clutch pedal has been sticking for a moment when starting off from cold but today it has stayed down and only come back up about an inch. I've tried it down the road and gear selection and clutch release is ok but gear indicator is showing blank. Is this likely to be a clutch slave cylinder issue? Any help greatly appreciated. I will take into my local garage on Monday morning. Many thanks.

That's a very reasonable price in the current climate for what sounds like a decent car. At 120bhp I wouldn't class the 1.6 as underpowered. It sounds like you do plenty of long journeys which should help the dpf and the main thing I find when they do a regen is to make sure it's cleared before you switch off the engine.

2015 is the last year of the Mk2 and first year of the Mk3. You'd be better off with a Mk3 as it will be Euro 6 and cheaper to tax.

They should be fine. I bought some ebay specials a few weeks ago for £196 for the pair. Local garage fitted them during a service. Tailgate now good as new, no more beeping for manual forcing!!

I've got a 2.0 tdi 150 manual, coming up to 150k miles. Never uses any oil between services. Was a VWFS lease car on variable services for first three years and been on fixed services for last four years.

Going back to the list at the top, I had Pirelli Powergy's on the last Superb and they were not particularly impressive. Just about got 20,000 out of them on the front when the Michelin's they replaced did 30,000.
