Hi Gaz Your right about the pressure side of it but its the power going to the pump that's the problem. Checked the motor that works fine but power to the pump donsnt last more than a second. Richard.

Hi no problem. No tried that but still just a voltage for a second before it goes. That what makes me think there is a timer relay.

Hi I have a superb 2.5 auto 2005. My head lamp washers have failed the mot due to not working have checked the fuses all ok. Pipe is connected but have put a tester on the wires to the motor in the screen wash bottle and seems to be intermittent is there a timer relay that would cause this or is it down to the stalk on the stearing wheele? Your help would be much appreciated. Many thanks Richard.

Hi all thanks for your help turned out to be the main battery. Not enough power to start the car just enough to turn it over. At least it's not going to cost an arm & a leg. Again thanks for your help and happy motoring.

Thanks carpet is dry well in the battery I have made sure is always clean as I have read other issues with this. As the fuel is going to the injectors I can't see this as being a fuel problem as recently had the fuel pump rebuilt with a new diaphragm. I have suspected it to be a immobiliser issue but the symbol on the display goes out this is what's leading me to think it's a relay issue as had the same problem with a Landrover some time ago but this was on a petrol engine. Not completely sure of how diesel engines work but always ready to learn. I think I'll have to get a mechanic to put it on the diagnostic machine to see what's going wrong. Thanks for your help and I'll get back to you and let you know?
