  1. Six days of chuckling when passing Audi's and thinking about how much money I saved not being a slave to badge snobbery Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  2. When we bought SWMBOs current car our local dealer didnt listen to what we wanted, and tried to sell us what he wanted to sell- result lost sale and we bought what we wanted from a dealer 70 miles away. I had done my homework, new the spec I wanted and what I wanted to pay for it. When we had to change my daughters car last year we went to look at a car we found online at a fairly local branch of a National chain. When we sat down to negotiate a price it turned out the windscreen price was their basic staring point- within a few minutes th "essentials" had added nearly £1k to the price. I calmly explained that I wanted to by the car, not all the extras like car mats, full tank of fuel, extended warrantly etc, stated a price to change that I was prepared to pay and walked away. 24 hour later they phoned and surprise, suprise, they could let me have the car for the price I wanted. Daughter loves the car (2006 Fiesta Zetec that had genuine 18k on the clock when we bought it) very reliable and comfy car that should do her for several years. Frustrating therefore when I get my lease car changed- know I have to try to get test drives out of dealers who wont get the sale, so need some little stretching of the truth, as have encountered difficulty getting test drive when I state it is a lease purchace outwith my control, then I have no control over the deal or which dealer it comes from. Never mind- only a week left till I get my new lease car delivered
  3. Only 7 more days. Ordered the 125 bhp engine based on a test drive of 100bhp. The 125 is used in the Zetec S, and was the fastest one until the ST was launched. Should have the performance without boy racer looks which suits fine. The power comes from turbo and kicks in for up to 30 seconds at a time, should be plenty for most situations. I will give feedback next week. Not an out and out hot hatch like the ST though, my 0-60 time will be just on 9 seconds Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  4. My s does have heated mirrors, turn he mirror control in either direction as if to adjust them, and keep going. Heated mirror on position is 180 degrees from normal off position. Superb is first car I have had with heated mirrors not linked to heated rear screen Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  5. 8 days now. Thanks Mr Ree, reassured by your comments. Suppose Ford wouldn't have sold over 25,000 Fiestas in the UK last month if it was a dud. As far as I can see Titanium x spec accounts for about 2% of Fiesta sales, so still a bit special Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  6. Fuel economy...simples Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  7. 9 days to go. Was impressed with test drive, really good road holding and titanium x has plenty of toys Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  8. 10 days and counting, just been out and brimmed the tank for the last time, due to drive about 600 miles between now and the car going back and need to return it with at least 1/4 tank of fuel according to instructions from lease company, so need to add a few pounds of diesel next weekend to comply. 9. When I learnt to drive in the 70s cars were very basic. Did have heaters and wipers. Radios were optional extra, plastic faux leather seats were common, no seat belts, never mind seat belt warning. Quarter light windows never sealed closed properly. We could open and start our Ford Corrina with the Yale key for our front house door. Acceleration was measured with a calendar, brakes were iffy at best. I love my Superb as it is, and I have poverty spec Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  10. 11 days left, need to think about clearing out the cubby holes this weekend Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  11. Got a postcard yesterday from Skoda dealer who services my Superb saying my brake fluid needs changed every two years and is now due......the car is there years old, on variable servicing, was serviced by them in February, and MOTd by them last month....and it is a lease car going back to leasing company week after next...go figure. 12. Only 12 more days to enjoy the space and road presence of the Superb Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  13. Have the transit bolts been removed by the dealer? There was a thread in one of the forums on here recently about this happening Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  14. Another of life's little mysteries solved, now, what's the next question that I always wanted to know the answer to and was too afraid (or didn't know who) to ask? Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  15. Sad about Superb going, but also excited about a new toy Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  16. 13 sleeps, getting excited Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  17. It isn't what the car is worth, but what the replacement cost is. We always run SWMBOs car into the ground, or until big bills start appearing. My car is a lease so replaced every three years Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  18. Sitting in the thunderbox after a curry last night so listening to...thunder Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  19. 15 days to go Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  20. Presume these are the latest improvement ideas from Mr Gove, in which they will apply to England and not the UK However Scotland has its own challenges as friends in education circles say the move to curriculum for excellence is bringing the education system, staff and pupils to near breaking point Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  21. 16 days only two more weekends left with Superb Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  22. Didn't lease the Superb because of the handles etc, but it is a nice touch. If I was influenced by toys and gimmicks I wouldn't have chosen poverty spec Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
  23. Even poverty spec Superb has dampened grab handles above all four doors, and twindoor has a boot that self closes the last little bit using a motor. Nice touches. Sent from my Hudl HT7S3 using Tapatalk
