  1. £380 extra to cover her as Provisional (DL) named driver., after that its Telematics for us all, or a different provider, but after she has passed, I'm passed caring - she can do what she likes ;-)

Any thoughts where elso to look ?

  2. Deal done and Yeti now going to dealer as a trade in against a 2016 Polo SEL (a light 110bhp).

Swapped Winters back to Summer Annapurnas, valeted interior and exterior - looks brand new !

  3. Will be punting in our Yeti in March. As our eldest daughter is learning to drive, I'm thinking Polo for The family runaround.

Trade-in value is about the same as the Balloon payment, so with no equity after looking after it, I will leave the keys with VWFS (who sell it to BCA).

How can such a low mileage, well looked after car be worth no more than the Balloon ?

Last time, Yeti for Yeti, I had quite a bit of equity, but not this time against a Polo ....

  4. Warranty/rework #24: Corrosion on tailgate and offside rear wing repaired and resprayed (making that the second time the tailgate has been repaired / resprayed)

All four doors are still rusting though and no word from the dealer 2 months on. Corrosion particularly bad around all four door handles, rear wheel arches and lower lips. Would have had better luck if I'd bought a vintage Alfa.

You need to buy a Lotus - plastic body :-)

  5. It's most likely a differential thermal expansion problem with the chrome rings - the are brittle and thin, giving a high frequency vibration. There is no need for them, but the foam seems a good idea (if not obtrusive on the eye !)

  6. Yeti #2 has been with us for two weeks now, but we got a surprise ....

One of our neighbours bought Yeti #1 from the dealer :-0

It's sitting on the other side of the street, looking pretty resplendant, after all my washing and some bodywork repairs ;-).

Not sure I'm comfortable with seeing it everytime I look out of the window.

Photos to follow (in fact, just go to my post when I swapped cars at the dealers).....

  7. First full day with the car - many admiring glances.

    - First major "bird droppings on roof" incident

    - Ready to fit mudflaps, but SWMBO'd has commandeered her own car ;-)

    - Not liking to new, smaller gearknob

    - Maxidot settings now to my liking :-)

    Hey ho...

  8. Just home from picking up #2 ! Yeti #1 alongside.

Its an Outdoor Elegance 170, with black alcantara, heated bits, TPM, Annapurnas, spare and LED rear lights.

Off to have a play :-)

  9. Oh dear. Sports seats that look like something out of a Fiat 500.

That colour/pattern would be enough to put me off getting one.

    Who designs these (Sporty) interiors?

    Disgraceful Skoda.

I'll have you know that my Abarth 595 has sabelt sports seats that are far classier than those (although I'd have alcantara sport seats as an option on an Elegance). ;-)

Perhaps you should chose another less classy car make/model *

    * insert car/model of choice....
