Anyone else ordered a new Kodiaq?
To be fair the base RS3 has a lot of extra's but definitely doesn't have 7 seats. I wasn't trying to compare a Kodiak vrs with an RS3 - they are patently two completely different cars. I was pointing out if you have already take the mental leap to go over £50k for a car then its not a big difference to consider other cars at the same general price point - 2.5k difference when you are at 50k isn't that significant. Didn't buy an RS3 in the end, too small. Considered all sorts of manufacturers and cars, ended up ordering an RS4 estate, build week 25 so ~4 months waiting. Kodiak orders seem to be moving a bit better now so fingers crossed for everyone waiting that they get their cars soon.

Not quiet, additionaly the side detection was disconinued, Area view and the CANTON music system also had to be removed due from my order to unavailble. My order was pre December. I can only repeat what the dealer told me, I cant vouch for the accuracy of the statement. However I had already told him I was cancelling the order before he told me they had heard from skoda - use or ignore as you see fit.

Thats what the dealer said, I have no way of validating it. Without a build week then any numbers you get are just made up imo, even if you have a build week its not a guarentee but personaly I would be happier than non at all.

This was re price VRS vs RS3. My spec Kodiak VRS was 52k, the base Audi RS3 is 54.5k - within 2.5k of each other in cost, hence my "pretty much the same price".

Placed my order end of Sept, in December had to modify the order (skoda discontiued extras) spoke to dealer today who told me they have been advised of delays to VRS of upto 52 weeks - presumably new orders. Still dont have a build date so have called it a day and cancelled my order. Will revisit once the supply situation calms down, then again Audi RS3 for pretty much the same price..... might just switch queues

You are conflating prioritizing production of low emission vehicles (without citing direct evidence), regulatory targets and how VW group report profit I doubt anyone is surprised that multinational companies seek the most preferential legal method of reporting such profit. 2020 saw a global pandemic with disruption to orders, production, supply and delivery. Any motor manufacture might reasonably argue for relief given the unprecedented circumstances. Regardless all manufactures seek to diversify and produce low emission vehicles to offset less green models, this is nothing new. Aston Martin Cygnet in 2011 for example. If wish to make a point regarding availability of Skoda Kodiak's I would suggest your post has failed to do so.

Seeing is believing...
Probably a dum question, can the plenty full but short hub caps be inserted from the rear of the wheel? ie they would be sunk into the hub well on the alloy.

and an update. Got a call from the dealer yesterday re my order. Skoda apparently have instructed dealers to contact owners of orders that don't yet have an allocated build week and have specified any of the following: CANTON sound system Area View Blind Spot Detection Skoda unable to supply the above , as I had all the above ticked what would I like to do? Cant fault the car but I am concerned that essentially I'm starting over and am now tempted to see what alternatives potentially have a better prospective delivery time.

If confirmed, this is more in line with Seat's recent quote saying expect recovery after July next year as opposed to Skoda's previously reported position - situation improving towards the end of this year. Again, if confirmed, it also makes a mockery of 30 week lead times and explains all the warnings and caveats Skoda gave when accepting my new order. It doesn't change anything much for me as I kept my car and every other manufacturer is in the same position. That is unless or until other manufactures get moving again faster than Skoda. I wonder if the auto manufacturers are rethinking their reliance on far eastern semi-con manufacturers now?

Hi Folks, I placed an order for a Kodiak VRS 29th September. Being quoted 30 weeks for delivery per Skoda's guidance. Dealer reckons that it may well be 27 weeks based on what they are seeing to date, we'll see. Have paid deposit and now have to sit & wait for about 10 weeks before likely to get a build date. I went for a lot of electronics so fully expect to hit all the delays possible. will post updates when anything happens
