  1. Hi,

I too always fill up to the brim including the expansion tank. I have several times put 57 litres in my Fabia Vrs.

I have exceeded 700 miles on one tank on three occasions.

I usually average 53 mpg.But I have exceeded 60 mpg average on one of those 700 miles tanks.:)

  2. Hi,

Just checked my fuel records for my 06 BLT vRS.

I always fill up completely using expansion tank.I have several times put in about 55 litres.

With out exp tank it is around 45litres.

The most I have squeezed in is 57.41 litres.

Last Sept 08 I covered 732.1 Miles on one tank using 55.3 L getting 58.34 mpg

I often drive gently but I do love to give it full throttle to 4K revs in 3rd and 4th sometimes.

    vRS lover

  3. I have just done 732 miles on one tank of BP ultimate.Used 54.85 litres at an average of 60.76 miles. Computer said 10 miles left when I refilled.

It was however a bit of an effort to drive so light footed.

Think I will drive a bit faster, I am happy when I get 55 mpg driving harder.

Very pleased with my 06 vRS:)

  4. I can assure everyone that this was accurate. Looking back over my records

I have filled my tank with more than 54 litres on four occasions. My previous best was 654 miles then I tried BP ultimate and the result was 58.3 mpg over 709 miles. Certainly 55.3 L was the most I have ever squeezed in.

I dont granny it all the time. I often use full throttle for a few seconds to overtake on B roads.

vRS owners will know that just a few seconds full throttle in third and fourth to max revs will get you moving ,I just then ease back and stick it into sixth and put on cruise.

I love my vRS .I can't ride motorbikes any more due to injuries. My vRS is the next best thing to replace my bikes.

(VRS Hopeful because I had to wait over two years to buy my vRS and then crashed my bike the week before I was due to pick it up and then spent three weeks in intensive care with two broken femurs and could not drive the vRS for four months.)

ECONOMY WITH GOOD PERFORMANCE -----Fabia vRS

  5. The Fabia has a 45 Litre tank but if the expansion tank is filled it will take 54 litres.

I have twice done 653 miles in my vRS on one tank.

I usually average 54 mpg. Do not rely on the computer, mine is at least 20 percent optimistic. I only rely on brim to brim calculations.

Driving gently I get 60mpg. I have done 20 k miles since new.

  6. I recently had a 20 K service and after driving 1K miles I found that the oil had been overfilled by over 1cm on dipstick.

There was a mist of oil all over the engine bay and air filter cover. But not dripping any oil

Do you think that I will have sustained engine damage?

I cannot get to the dealer for two weeks.

    Please advise me .

  7. I ordered ESP and Cruise with mine. I feel that ESP is a fantastic safety device which ought to be standard.

I use cruise a lot. In my area there a lots of speed cameras . You can use cruise in 30 MPH areas in 5th Gear. I'm sure it may have saved me a ticket. If you need to slow a touch on the brakes will disengage cruise, likewise a gear downchange.

    Cruise is well worthwhile.

  8. Pleased with my BLT vRS (completely standard)

There is a poor flatspot around 1700 rpm but it does not seem to stutter much.

The first thousand miles running in I only averaged 51mpg. I have found the computer to be very inaccurate so these figures are brim to brim. The computer overreads between 10 to 20%.

The last 3000 miles I have averaged 54.25 (always on Shell Diesel extra)

I am very pleased with it .I love the torque, it just storms up hills .

I'm sorry to hear how much other BLT owners have suffered with the dreaded stutter.
