  1. Thanks for all the replies. I have to take this quote seriously they are offering the 170 Elegance for between £1,000 and £1600 cheaper than local dealers. For that type of money a trip to Rainworth from Cardiff is meaningless.
  2. I'm still collecting quotes on a new Yeti 170 Elegance and I've come across SkodaStore. They quoted a very nice price (not lowest but very competitive) and the email made clear if you were interetsed in PART EX anf Finance etc they would put you in touch with the dealer. Sure enough a day later I had a call from a Skoda dealer confirming the price and finance part ex etc. I asked where he was located and he freely told me Mansfield and the dealship was Rainworth, I think. How is Skoda-Store making any money on this? Most of these broker types sites set a finders fee and add it to the cost, theres nothing like that with Skoda-store they put me stright on to the dealer.
  3. Hi Chatter Box, thanks for the offer. I'm in the Heath area so you must be near me. If you have a spare 5 minutes I wouldn't mind poping over to see the car. 4 months seem like a short wait with the times i've been quoted.
  4. Right, I have a test Drived booked at last, Newport have a Elegance 140 2 wheel drive and on the 26th of Feb I get to see it and drive it. Funny thing is though although they are very happy for me to take it out on my own they told me the dealers excess is £2500! Is this standard? Further I have got two great quotes from Drive the Deal and Corts for the 170 Elelgance for around £21500, when I put this to the Cardiff dealer he got really abrupt with me, in fact he told me he's sorry for wasting my my time by quoting, which he still did and do you know he quoted me 23900 for the 140 Elegance. Book price 22650. I tried to point this out to him but I couldn't get a word in edge ways. Will talk to the Newport dealer and see what he can do. At least I will get to see it. Oh and the cardiff dealer said they could get the car in about 4 months know.
  5. Thanks for the info, the Cardiff dealship didn't half seem to be poorly stocked, is there a problem with VW servicing Skoda? Are they supllying Audi and VW first and leaving Skoda out to dry. The sales guy was nice enough, but what could he do, they had no Yeti's to show me, although they may have one coming in the week! He was as frustrated as some of his customers no doubts. By the way I just managed to get a quote for 22K for the Elegance maodel 170, really tempted at that price, but I want to drive and see the bloody thing first! I also noticed that the emisions are lower on the 170 compared to the 140 diesel, whats all that about. It's been a great day so far. Had BMW all over me (offered me an X3 for 31K!) then VW then the guys from Skoda. Great fun! Oh and cheers Johan more great info. Great site this by the way.
  6. Thanks for all the replies. Thanks for the link to the yetiDNA thread, very interesting. As for sending me to VW the sales guy was obviosuly not particulary happy with the pecking order cars seem to be delivered! I did give me an idea to the size and make up of the car, but theres no way in hell would I pay the asking price for the Tiguan, it's overpriced by at least 4k to me. I have made phoned Skoda Newport and I'm waiting on a call to confirm if they have any in the show room. The stock levels of used online are completely out of date.
  7. Hi, I'm a 320 owner looking to move a more family orientated Car with a bit of off road capability as my job takes me onto farms. After reading up the Yeti came as an obvious choice. However after visiting my Skoda dealer in Cardiff I couldn't get to test drive or even see it, they don't have any! I was told if ordering as of know you are looking at a 6 month lead time! The dealer told if I wanted to get an idea of the car and the interior to test drive the Tiguan which I have done. First up I'm shocked at the price of the VW, yeah it's well bolted together but for the life of me I can't see where the 25k plus is (more expensive than my 320). I don't know if anyone else has compared the two cars, but it would be nice if someone could tell if they are the same under the skin, floor pan, engines, switchgear etc. What is the qulaity of the skoda interior like compared to the VW? I like the looks of the Skoda better, far more character although my son likes the VW better. Any info regading the Yeti gretafully received.
  8. Hi all, sorry for the Welsh title topic,it means how is everyone. Was trying to be a clever arse. Anyway I'm a BMW owner, 320iM sport. Love the car but 3 years is up on March the first and I decided I wanted a change. My work takes me on Farms now and then and the M Sport wasn't really the car. I have been looking for a more family orientated car and very impressed by a colleagues Tiguan. Had a few test drives in one, but I just can't see where the 25k plus is. Then I spotted the Yeti, I like the looks better than the VW although my son like the VW so there's some convincing to be done. Been to my loacal Skoda dealer in Cardiff, none on display, none in stock and if I ordered tomorrow 6 month waiting time!
