  1. adding to the thread with thoughts... I've had 3 VRS' since the MK4 redesign, and now in a 4.5 (Space Violet, 75 plate)...they've all been petrol, and all hatchbacks. The difference in the car between 2020 and now, is massive, but the real jump was once they got the problems out of the way..... 21 plate Meteor Grey one was fine, but the screen and general random errors never went away...never quite broke down, but was a bit sketchy at times if the battery had been left for a week without driving. Random things wouldn't work. 23 plate Race Blue was way better in the software and errors, and actually a pretty nice place to be. Totally rock solid, had 2yrs without any incidents at all (apart from the USB in the rearview mirror housing that twice disappeared into the housing!). 75 plate Space Violet, much better in the screen speed and general use, a touch quieter and nicer to be in, looks better, and feels a little sharper to drive The auto cruise control and 'assisted steering' is much better too, much better than even the 23 plate. So there are marginal, but definite gains I didn't need to move out of my 23plate at all, but the PCP numbers were in my favour, and I fancied the purple whilst it was available..glad I jumped when I did
  2. about 500, maybe a few more - 10 or so hours
  3. Picked up car just before Christmas, but done enough driving / hours in the car to know it’s OK.
  4. I have the same (new VRS, Canton, and the same HW and software installed I am streaming from an iPhone 17 with up to date iOS and no issues from Amazon Music or Apple Music (don't use Spotify), and it is rock solid with no audio dropouts. There's no difference if it's plugged in on USB C, on the wireless charger, or in my pocket.
  5. Happy to have helped! Not driven one with DCC, but this is my 3rd VRS and I've never felt it was lacking in comfort or handling (and we are in Shropshire, lots of fast, rural twisty roads and the car is perfectly capable). I missed Canton on the last car, so it was the only option I went for - it's a massive improvement all round.
  6. More pics in the sun as requested. We've had a good number of VAG group metallic over the years, this is the most interesting for sure - it looks pretty dark most of the time, even in the direct sun, but when it hits an angle it can really change. Tried to capture it in the pics.....
  7. Hardware H11 Software 2768 Display unit / control panel hardware H24 Display unit / control panel hardware 266
  8. Staying for now. I don't mind them at all, and think they go well with the dark body colour......might think different if I had hyper green or white though?
  9. Picked up my third MK4 VRS today (previously 2020 Meteor Grey, 2023 Race Blue). Ordered the Space Violet, and thought it might be of interest to those on the fence about the colour - it looks almost black when in the shade, but even on an overcast day in the light it looks pretty purple...have feeling it will look even more purple in the sunshine. Very happy to have something a little outside the norm! ..and keeping on thread, it feels a little sharper than the previous two cars, but the real difference is in the screen and how it all works faster and better than the 2023 car (and the less said about the buggy 2020 car, the better!). Ordered in August as soon as I saw the colour was available, and no options other than Canton. Here's an untouched pic on an overcast day, no coating or treatment. Just as it came from the dealer.
  10. I had this problem on my 2021 VRS after being parked in at Heathrow for 2 weeks - all kinds of errors, no radio or Apple Car Play - quiet a stressful drive home wondering if it was going to make it. 3hr drive home, and it was totally fine the next day. (well as fine as it ever was on that car, it was an early MK4, so the infotainment was obviously constantly going wrong)
  11. Same here - I've also hit the mid 50s a couple of times on motorway runs, just setting the cruise control to about 65 seems to be a sweet spot between not feeling like I'm going too slow and getting a decent MPG. However, it is quite boring.....nice to know it *can* do it though.
  12. Just checked the long-term from new 886 miles in total, 38.3mpg average
  13. Did my first real run in the car (Petrol VRS DSG) over the last couple of days, a 390mile round trip from home to Keswick. Wasn't in a huge rush, and it was mostly very quiet motorway, so I just set the cruise control to 72mph, took it easy, and enjoyed the Lake District. Was amazed to get 51.5mpg (according to the car) on the run, which is almost what I was getting out of my 19 plate 1.5 petrol (manual) when I drove it sensibly. The drive home I played around a little more, had it in sport mode from time to time, and was a little more spirited, but still returned 45.2mpg Am taking these numbers with a pinch of salt as it's what the car said, but am interested in what others are getting in terms of MPG and if this stacks up with others' experiences?
  14. Intended to take a better pic, but work has got in the way over the last 7 days. Taken the day I picked it up last week, TSI in Meteor.
  15. I've just gone from Canton in a 19 plate Octavia, to standard audio in a 21 VRS (petrol), so just adding a thought or two. I swapped cars over this week, and am prefacing this in the knowledge that a car is never the place for perfect audio, whatever you have Canton in the '19 plate Octavia was pretty good, really quite nice with acoustic recordings and with the sound set to the front of the cabin. It was noticeably less good with more complex stuff. It *did* however go loud and have lots of bass if that's your thing (not mine). Didn't spec it on the new VRS, and was expecting a huge difference in quality, but at sensible volume levels it's not as big a step down as I expected. It's definitely not as detailed in comparison, and if you want huge bass you will be very disappointed; but it is more than acceptable, certainly loud enough, and a massive leap from standard audio in the previous couple of Octavias (14 & 17 plates) I owned.
  16. Mine (UK) came with Goodyear F1 Supersport
  17. I also ordered a VRS Hatch (Petrol DSG) at the end of Nov, was delivered to the dealers last week, just over 11 weeks from placing the order to delivery. Elected to pick it up early March
  18. A couple of weeks ago (last week of Nov), I ordered a Meteor Grey Hatch, Petrol, DSG w. spare to arrive in March (at the end of my current PCH) - was given a build week that said it would be delivered at end of Feb, but got a call saying it had been brought forward and should be here January. Am likely to hang on until March to pick it up, but let's see...
