Any ideas how much extra time i should leave for this operation stack travelling up tuesday check in is 09:20am its 4hr 20min drive? Was going to leave about 4:30 hoping to make up a bit of journey time in the early hrs ready for the rush hour bit later

Ive bought two obd things now and the app tells me theyre both defective and can only read the fault codes, Really want the needle sweep and all doors unlocking at the same time

Just got my osram ones look just as i wanted
Not a fan of the cree's smd's etc personally as they are righ on view from experience cree last miles longer than any smd ever did on my last car

On my mk2 ive managed to burn my pollen filter after replacing both filter and resistor? do i need to rotate the resistor 180 degrees just asking before i rip my airbag out again to have a look?

Thanks for the comments ill go with the osrams then should match my ring ice blue ones nicely dont want them massivley bright just not blinking yellow or green lol

When i got my monte i had one blue and one clear sidelight bulb in either headlamp and all the other montes i saw had blue sidleights too so i decided to to buy some new blue ones which look fine in daylight but an ugly green colour when on :no:
Anyone got any nice looking ones the led ones look ugly as theyre right in view or should i just get some clear ones tommorow, They are meant to blue though arent they?

Going to be interesting to see what happens with mots and gutted dpf's apparently they check for there presence via obd in germany

Theres a reciever/drier for the ac its probably just equalizing after turning it all off but not when running maybe worth getting the gas charge checked

Yep i know its visual now keep reading crap about them checking in the future but how they're going to do it is seems unrealistic tbhNo normal MOT testing station is going to plug their computer in to test for dpf, they have no reason to. One only has to be visible so they won't bother.

After having squeeky bum time thinking my cars knackered and it turning out to be just a burnt out blower motor resistor ive decided to get it remapped but cant decide on keeping the dpf or not?
Ive been quoted £180 for remap or £320 with the dpf gutted itll pass the visual inspection on mot now but theres rumours of them checking through obd for its presence like in Germany in the future.
Either way im off to France in August and the better half doesn't want me doing any major mods before the long trip lol so got plenty of time to think about it

Thats easy explained - high demand for new cats on the school run buses due to mummy being too busy on the phone to change gears properly either over revving or labouring engines dumping excess fuel into the exhaust system which burns out the cat and.. the engines and cats never getting up to temp properly as they only live a mile from school...
surely they're getting nicked to weigh in had work vehicles done a couple of times fitted catlocks to them now

And it looks like the blower motor resisitor pack has gone too only now noticed works on 4 maybe that was the electric smell
Stick a fork in me im done

I think im thinking too much lol yes the orignal problem i believe is solved but as my car has no temp guage on the dash ive noticed how high it is using torque app via obd what i havent realised is the temp on the app will be live temp whereas any car guage will be averaged out and wont jump up and down
Its had its first three dealer services fourth by me the oil was specific to the car cant remember the grade tho it was specific for vw only use esso derv, coolant tester says its safe but like i said i think im thinking too much looking at live data as i dont have a guage theres no coolant light on either other than the cold one when first started

Surely the coolant goes around the engine and coolant bottle pump and back again but only through the rad when the thermostat is open?

Cant find a thermometer other than my fish tank one so i left that there, Didnt realise that i can quickly check if the thermostat is working by holding the in and out pipes on the rad to see if theyre hot the top one is very hot the bottom is cool think i should be looking at that, Thanks wakey
ill take it out and boil it in a pan tommorow see if it opens

Mines at about 2.5rpm @ 70 probably needs to be to clean the dpf out still get silly figures on motorways though 60+mpg with ease
