  1. Hi Are you struggling to receive PMs? I've sent you some..
  2. @langers2k, I suspect you’re spot on (again! 🙄). The pieces of trim I removed didn’t have part numbers on them… Now to try and find one.. Hen’s teeth I suspect.. Thanks again
  3. Hi Yes, good point.. I had a look and there is no sticker or moulded part number on the surround. 💡…. If I take off a different price of trim, that may have a number on.. I’ll keep pulling my car apart.😬. Thanks all
  4. Hi I’d second the slave cylinder. I suspect the seals have gone and the fluid is leaking past them without moving the pressure on the clutch (explains the inability to change gear). The clutch pedal normally returns due to the diaphragm spring in the middle of the clutch forcing the slave cylinder back, which in turn returns the pedal. If you slowly lift the clutch pedal and press to the bottom (&repeat) the fluid level in the reservoir should drop and there should be a puddle under the car.. Let us know how you get on.
  5. Hi all. I have recently purchased a Columbus unit for my '09 FL Elegance and will obviously need to replace the trim surrounding the unit. I have tried searching the forums for the part number, as I'm sure I'm not the first to do this, but I can't find any references. Could someone help me by telling me the part number I need? The trim is silver with a fine grid pattern over it.. Thanks in advance
  6. Hi Sent you a pm. Thanks
  7. @Tilt, I don’t use a garage for repairs, only MOTs. I could ask them. @AGFalco, Cheddar/Weston-Super-Mare area..
  8. Hi all. My two rear tyres have suffered dramatic scuffing on the inner inch of the tread. I’m going to check for worn linkages, but after that I would like to get a 4 wheel alignment done. Can anyone in Somerset recommend a garage that will do a good job? Thanks
  9. Hi All I have a 2009 Octavia Elegance, to which I would like to retrofit a MFSW. Is there anyone who has access to the parts catalogue that could advise which MFSW and Airbag Loom I need? Also, I believe I need a high line Steering module (?) - which part number would this be? Many Thanks
  10. Issue now resolved. After checking all of the earths and reading all contributions on this forum, I concluded that the fault was in the cluster itself. Rather than get it repaired, I took the opportunity to get a Maxidot cluster as an upgrade. Fortunately one was available and a very kind, patient and competent forum member reprogrammed it for me. All re-fitted and working well.
  11. Hi Picpilot. Thanks for the reply. I looked at your post in the link. So you had results from leaving your car to 'dry out'? It's great that you figured out a way of reacting to the problem, but did you find a permanent fix to stop the problem in the first place? Maybe removing the instrument cluster and cleaning the connector, or cleaning a specific connector/Earth/pcb? I want to get rid if this permanently as it's driving me nuts! Thanks in advance!
  12. Hi All. I know there have been several threads already on this topic, but none are concluded, so thought I'd start again.... I have an issue with the Warning Lights in the Instrument cluster. When some warning lights are (legitimately) illuminated, it makes others come on at half (unquantified!) brightness, i.e. When indicating right, the Cruise light flashes, when the low fuel light is on, the Amber oil level light comes on. When no warning lights are on, no half lit ones are on. To me, it sounds like a bad earth. did some digging and found that some of the sensors are all earthed at point 374, Earth Connector 9 - Wiring Harness. Does anyone know where on the car this is? I have had an issue with the car steaming up recently, so thought like the Passat the car would have some electronics/connectors under the carpet that may have corroded. Had a peek under the carpets at the weekend and no connectors. Cleaned all of the earths on the A-pillars while I was there, but did not help. Battery and Charging system is ok. Any suggestions?
  13. Hi Did you ever get to the bottom of this issue? I now have the same problem and could do with a pointer.... Thanks
