    Someone blew there horn at me because I overtook him in the snow. He was doing 8 mph in a 40 , I've snow tyres and 4 wheel drive

      I've had that a few times, maybe it's because the cars I was passing knew I *only* have 2 wheel drive :)

    If the variable speed limit on the m25 isn't lit, are the speed camera's active?

      No, they are not on M42, not M1. If they are lit in any way (including the National Speed Limit applies sign) then they are active!
