And I thought getting a confirmed build week of 29 for my Scout after ordering mid November was bad....... No logic to the ordering system at all, you have my sympathy.....

Had a diesel Scout on order since late November 2010 still no word of a build date and Skoda UK Customer Services Manager told me on the phone after I had written to them,they have no direct contact with the factory to find anything out, so how your salesman contacted Skoda Direct is beyond me, my dealer can't!! Sounds like he spinning you a line unfortunately!!
just got an e-mail from my dealer today saying there is a build date of 23rd May 2011 for my Scout DSG- if that becomes firm that will be a mid June delivery 28/29 weeks from order. Almost 7 months!!
You were lucky - I ordered a diesel Scout mid Nov 2010 and finally today had some good news from the SUK Customer Services! "I have received confirmation from the Factory that your vehicle will be built in the week commencing the 18th July 2011".

Finally some good news from the SUK Customer Services! "I have received confirmation from the Factory that your vehicle will be built in the week commencing the 18th July 2011. Once the vehicle has been built, you should expect to take delivery within 3-4 weeks thereafter."

My dealer said that Aqua Blue IS still available on the Scout, just not other Octavias so I don't need to pick another colour. My build week is now showing as 29 but not confirmed (ordered early December). I've told the dealer I want it registering for 1st September now and he seemed to think this wouldn't be a problem.
Hmmm, I was told by Customer Services that as the Octavia's are made in a separate factory Aqua Blue is not available under any circumstances so iv'e been forced to switch to Satin Grey..Someone is telling porkies!, my current est build week is also 29......

I also heard today that I have a build week of 32, though not in Aqua Blue (unless it's a Roomster, Superb or Yeti - very sore point!) so it will be around 9 months after ordering to del (ordered 16/11/10 Octavia Scout)........I am now going to make myself a complete thorn in the side of Skoda to extract some revenge!

Give the dealer a call ASAP, I only found out when I called them and from research on this forum a couple of colours were cut more than 2 months ago from the Octavia range check Skoda website....

eh? How does that work? You ordered 2 months before me and got it two weeks after me... how odd.
even worse, I ordered my Octavia Scout 16 Nov 2010, still no firm delivery date!. Einstein & Hawking combined would be foxed by Skoda's delivery "black hole" and random delivery system.

Going back to my Greenline II Estate again...
I've been calling my dealer regularly for updates and today the car has gone from "unknown" to build week 28!!!
I actually went into the dealership on Friday for a polite chat. Interesting to see the cars floating in the system (usually where people have cancelled orders.) The dealership guessed that, particularly for the Greenline II Estate, there may be an incredibly large order from some plc being dealt with at the factory and this is upsetting things. I came away with the following conclusions:
If you want to get a Fabia quickly, go for a hatchback and a conventional engine/gearbox. Factory-fit options and colour won't have much impact on build time. And estate, Greenline engine and/or DSG will slow things up considerably.
For other models, Roomsters are as rare as rocking horse **** with Greenline ones even rarer! Octavia and Yeti supply seems more steady from what I saw.
* My Top Tip * don't ever order anything to be built! Just check in with your dealer from week to week and see what's floating around in the system. I passed up the chance of cancelling the Fabia order and swapping for a Greenline II Roomster... however, it was in red
Seriously, if you can put up with red there are usually loads of different models floating about as nobody will touch em One other thing: your dealer has absolutely no control of the factory and the build dates they issue. Neither does Skoda UK, they *may* be able to suggest, influence or badger the factory over orders but ultimately they can't *order* them to make a particular car.
Anyhoo, as mentioned by previous posters, I hope the delivery of my car will be 2-3 weeks after the build date. This is the usual time for customs to check paperwork, etc. Anyone getting "it's been sitting at the docks since May" is being fed a load of **** by their dealer. Customs only have a finite amount of space and they can't be doing with loads of cars and vans taking up room!
Didn't know about this Schedule 10/20/30 thing though, will give my dealer a shout in the morning...

Andy you are Sooooo right about the dealer and SUK having no control over build dates etc. They are being dicked around like the rest of us hapless folks who thought ordering a car to our spec was a good idea (over 6 months ago)~....... never again!

Interesting. My Aqua Blue Scout was ordered early December and have been told Build Week 32 but not confirmed. What's going to happen about the colour then if its been discontinued? My dealer hasn't mentioned anything about the colour not being available any longer.

You are not alone - I ordered an Octavia Scout 16/11/10 - still waiting and arguing with SUK as they now say they cannot supply the colour I ordered (Aqua blue)

Same here, ordered 16th Nov, few extras and now Aqua Blue not available..... so complaining....

Sloda update on order placed 16/11/2010; as they no longer make the Octavia in Aqua Blue they have no build date and I have to choose another colour (couldn't make this up) Just sent a meldrewish email to the CEO, Customer Services and the Czech Republic. They still do the Superb and Yeti in AB so what's the problem!
Order Summary:Placed 16/11/2010/Octavia 2.0 CR Scout Estate/Options:Variable boot floor/Electric Sunroof/Met paint Aqua Blue/Multifunction for Maxi-dot/Space-saver spare.
And I will also be writing to the motoring press, The Sunday Times and the Consumers Association (Which?), all of which I subscribe to. If I have my way, Skoda will not be winning any more customer service awards.

The common thread though seems to be the "12 weeks" initially quoted by the sales folks........ looking forward to some compensation / free upgrades.

Thought it might be a nice idea if we kept a short table / list of people who have ordered there cars and when they hopefully will be produced. This might give us an idea of what colours spec (auto/manual) are being produced first.
Please note this thread is only for cars ordered in 2010, as would not show a true reflection with the news re delays to diesels ordered in 2011
