  1. All because the press have blown this up... people should wait until VW/Audi/Seat and Skoda say "This is what is happening etc"

It would not stop me cancelling, I still love my current car, nothing wrong with it, I would go now and order a new Superb no problem...

I guess less was known last Friday when they cancelled, would I take the gamble with so much money and uncertainty hanging over vw cars? I honestly don't know if I would but I'd certainly be thinking long and hard about whether I'd spend my money with them right now, to the point I'm delaying buying a new pickup until this has died down and cleared up because I was going to buy an amarok now I'm waiting and seeing before I commit to anything. We own an affected car mkii vrs it's been a good car and I'm not too worried at 5 years old it's served us well would I buy a new one tomorrow? Not a chance until this is cleared up with facts on the fixes etc

  2. Spoke to a VW dealer on Saturday friend of a friend when we where out for a meal, apparently the number of cancelled orders they've been hit with is unreal, he's confident vw will sort everything for customers whether all the dealerships survive in the mean time remains to be seen they'd had 6 passats for a company fleet cancelled on the Friday that where meant to be delivered on the Monday.

  3. I think I can safely say that there is not even the slightest chance of that happening.

There is absolutely no way that they will give you a full refund of the purchase price for a car that's more than a year old.

Vw did exactly this with the Amarok Cayman gave either a full refund or offered a trade up to a higher spec brand new model because they couldn't carry the advertised weight so didn't meet the criteria for a commercial vehicle and the tax implications involved. From memory some of those where 18 months old so a pretty good deal for any customer affected 18 months free motoring.

  5. Police around here use vrs's as chase cars and for pursuit training,

As for the 335 most unreliable pile of **** I've ever had the displeasure to own and that's saying something after my range rover sport debacle, the 335 was amazing to drive WHEN it wasn't in for repair well known for faults I would certainly never touch one without a bloody good warranty.

  6. They worked well on our BMW the other year when I couldn't get the car up the drive (steep slope)

although I watched a guy struggle fitting them to his BMW that couldn't get out of a car park after he'd all but told me to shove my offer of a tow (4x4) quite rudely, so I sat back and enjoyed my coffee in the comfort of my big 4x4 and watched him fit them to the FRONT wheels just didn't have the heart to tell him and after watching him slide back down the hill for the 3rd time I just pottered on up and out giggling away to my little self.

  7. I've thrown in the white towel and gone for some Phillips X-treme power bulbs. I've done the ebay HIDs thing before and its easier on older cars. All this coding/canbus/non canbus is hassle unless you have the know how and have VCDS.

I'll let you know how i get on. It's not to say i won't go the HID route in the future. If someone can get a canbus set without coding that works i'll get them and put the Phillips bulbs in the main beam.

I've done the same thing but gone for night breakers amazon had a sale on

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0047N0B0U/ref=pe_217191_31005151_3p_dp_1

So figured sod it ill see what they're like.

  8. Maybe that's all the confusion is mines and 11 plate hatch maybe its just the estates?

Maybe definitely lifts it slightly in the estate not enough to worry me I'd still rather have a spare wheel and a little carpet lift, normally it would be a 205/55/16 winter wheel however they're on the car now

  9. I think this forum should be renamed garage envy. Looks like a very nice garage sparky750. Double glazing, pictures on the wall.. I have seen living rooms that aren't as good!

Lol, cheers it was built as a dependant living bungalow my parents have been eyeing it up for a while now but after the first winter of not having to deice cars in the mornings they don't stand a chance lol

  10. ^ Plug, Yes but Play, NO.

You have to code to suit and if you have a new model the code with standard lights. Then do not for any reason turn on your lights until the hids are fully fitted.

Cheers mate I'd figured about the coding its more the connections that they just plug into existing sockets rather than joints etc.
