i thought that the pipe on the k&n was the same with the pipe going down so you put the filter down by the front arch / bumber

my vrs in black with glitter bits in is this the black magic? any idea of where i find the colour code and need a top up for stonechips on the bonnet

i brought a green pannel filter and had it in for a day and put the standard back in didnt make any difference infact seemed to lose power this is why i was thinking of a induction cold air feed for mine ebay do a few cheaper ones meant to be ok but i think im going for the k&n 57i

havent got the standard dv brought a 2nd hand forge007p off ebay but sounds the same noise as when the air is released havent got a clue how to check as had to get it fitted by someone on here

i know the standard n75 are prone to failing would i hear anything if this is the case im getting slight air noise when driving and sounds like its coming from n75 or dv as when the air is released from the dv when foot comes of pedal sounds similar noise sounds like its coming from same place should i hear this air going in and out? or could something be knackered also its been remapped and had a forge 007p and has been ok but last 2 days dont feel the same i.e only gets to around 55-58mph in 2nd was getting to 70ish

i got the email address for mest mercia where mine came from and emailed them took around a week as they had to forward it onto the transport dept but got a email back a week later with all the service history and work that had been done and dates the work was done just a idea might be worth a try foor you

will ask at the local skoda dealer in bilston tomorrow see if one of the lads can take it round the block and let me know the garage put a smoke machine on and said intercooler was broken and leaking just wondered if that was bad would the smoke have picked another small leak further on i remember listening for the turbo whisle when i had it and couldnt hear anything all ive had done since is remap , forge dv and intercooler

i can hear the turbo spooling up like a deep spinning noise the noise im hearing is a loud whistle similar to the s2 escort rs did but bit louder will get the garage to check it again they showed me the old intercooler and said it had got damaged i have said i couldnt hear it much when i got it back but has got louder over a few weeks when i go back they just say its normal without even looking

i have no idea then couldnt hear it when i had the car then had it mapped and could hear it slighly the chap who mapped it said it sounded like a leak so booked it in to have a smoke test done they said the intercooler was leaking so changed it had it back and couldnt hear it as loud at first then got worse took it back the garage drove it and said its normal some people say no whistles orthers say yes its ok car hear it with the window up sometimes if its the turbo should i hear it when foot slightly on the pedal as the turbo still works but dont hear it when driving lightly

can try and record it on my phone and try and do it no doesnt sound like a police siren just a whistle like if you try and whistle through your teeth lol no boost guage fitted and have no idea where the inlet is lol sorry no good with cars know its coming from the right as my partner cant hear anything through the passenger side just the drivers side cant hear it when light on pedal and hold it there even up to 50 in 2nd but if foot half way down upto 50 can hear it in all gears after 2000revs

been for drive today anyone else have this whistle/hissing noise or are all other vrs quiet when booted

have had it mapped and a forge dv but could hear it before the forge was fitted

sounds like a air leek to me like a hissing whistle sound dont do it if foot lightly on pedal even up to 6000 revs but foot to the floor starts hissing / whistle at 2000 revs but the garage that fitted the intercooler have said its the normal turbo sound and wont do anything

what noise should the turbo make 2004 octavia 1.8t vrs had new intercooler fitted last 3 weeks garage are saying the whistle is normal but heard different reviews im getting a spinning spooling sound and and a whistle from drivers side normal or poss air leak? anyone local could have a listen or would skoda charge if i asked one of their mechanics to have a listen

anyone know the best wax / polish for black octavia faded paint ive always used autoglm super resin polish but dont seem to be making much difference ordered some autoglm paint renovator came today only tries it quick with cloth dont seem much good either was thinking about the turtlewax black box anyone used this or maybe getting a car polisher machine any trying the resin polish again only seems to be bad on the 2 front wings also anything good for stone chips on the bonnet thx

how can i tell if new coil packs have been fitted? the garage only had it in for 15 mins max had a quick look and new shiney black plastic caps but thats all that looks new is that all they replace as have no idea what the coil packs are lol
