  1. I was told that 10k is a max, and the car knows best thus giving you a countdown. Had mine serviced as instructed by the computer at 9,000.

Seems a very short interval especially as I'd put 5 litres of oil in it up to that point.

Now replaced it with a 3l BMW, with 23k between services and not used a drop of oil

  2. My vrs has done it since I drove it out the showroom. Rather than back to dealer to take it apart and probably not fix it but create more rattles, I fixed it myself. Either side of the trip button, between the clear plastic and the black frame, wedge in a piece of black card folded over a couple of times. Fixed it straight away and can't notice it. Hope that helps.

  3. My Fabia vrs has only ever ran on vpower so can't really compare, however, I've mainly used vpower petrol or diesel in my previous cars and always noticed a significant improvement in performance. Most noticeably was my Pug 206 gti180, with vpower in it drove like a different car.

For the sake of a couple of quid extra on a tank, for me I can't understand why you wouldn't use it.

  4. vRS been for its first service today at Hayseldens Doncaster. As expected, efficient service. They even remembered the last time I took the car in that I didn't want them to wash it. However they did pick up that the rear shock was leaking badly and needs replacing.

I have zero mechanical knowledge, but I thought they'd last more that 9 months? Anyone else had the same problem?

  5. Forgive my lack of mechanical knowledge, but when it goes for a service, do they not empty all the oil out, then surely the dealer has a document detail the correct amount of oil the car should hold? So, measure out said amount and put into engine. Simple!? Mine is going for its first service soon, my intention is to wait at dealer until up to temperature then check myself, so they can sort any potential under/over fill immediately

  6. My vRS has now done 8600 miles and was planning on booking it in for its first 10k service in about 6 weeks time. Started the car up today to a message that a service is due in 700 miles.

Spoke to the dealer, who confirmed that it is fixed 1yr or UP TO 10,000 miles, despite being fixed service plan the car knows when it needs new oil. To date I've added about 2l of oil which i think is about 1/2 what the car holds? so a little surprised not to get a full 10,000 miles out of it as on thw whole isn't driven excessivly hard.

The dealer wants £139 for the service, sounds reasonable to me, I guess there are some dealers may do it for a few quid less, but I can't be doing with the hassle of shopping around, my dealer has been good so far so can have my business again.
