Hi all. Recently I ordered some car parts online and, to avoid shipping cost, threw this performance filter into the basket. Didn’t give it much thoughts honestly. I had one 10 years ago and I liked the engine roar it produced. But installing this into Superb 2.0 TDI isn’t simple and straightforward. If I remove original box, there’s no place to fit it on the original intake hose. Any idea where I could buy proper hose with angle (and compatible connection for MAF piece) to mount the filter where original air filter box is placed? Can’t Google anything definitive on this... Attached picture is borrowed from VW but engine bay set-up is the same. Shipping to EU is a must have.

Mib 2 high and 2.5 high SW update

Thx. Doesn’t look that complicated, except it doesnt say how you patch that “tsd.mibstd2.system.swdownload”... -
Mib 2 high and 2.5 high SW update
milanj replied to RomanB's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Tried to update today and MIB2 rejected it due to "missing decencies". I will try 367T tommorow and see if it would be possible to go to 478T after that. I did however read on some forum (lost the link) that it's not possible to go from 2xxx to 3xxx, 3xxx to 4xxx,... but let's see. I guess MIB2 is smart enough to know what it can allow and what not. -

VCDS options on Superb III
milanj replied to BurialConstant's topic in Skoda Superb Mk III (2015 - 2023)
Drive mode function must be factory activated using ODIS. Also you need to physically install button. VW has is as SWaP (software as a product) for Golfs, Škoda doesn't even officially sell it (except if you buy it with new car). There are people who claim to know how to "hack" the CAN gateways to activate it, but as far as I know is limited only to 5Q0 CAN gateways, 3Q0 are no-go for now. But to answer your question. No, you can't just activate it with VCDS. It's already been written a lot on this topic here, use search. -
Adaptive cruise control speed limit

+1 also here, for using the stalk to resume. Makes morning drive to work thru traffic so much better! -
I purchased Jimi JV200, got it of Aliexpress with lifetime subscription for 25 €. Quite happy with it and functionalities it offers. Combined with a 4€/m data SIM card (1 Gb,1000SMS/m), device is online since I installed it, 4 month ago, without any noticeable failures. I understand all the concerns about how is this even useful tackling professional car thieves and agree this kind of device efficiency on that point of view is probably poor. But... From where I come from, there are also quite some cases of people steeling rims/wheels, not to mention breaking into cars just to steal some valuables from inside the car. And this all usually happens during the night, when cars are parked in-front of peoples homes. What I like about this devices, some of theme also support geo-fence notifications (enter or exit of a virtual zone you define, e.g. home parking, job parking,...), also vibration alert is quite useful (e.g. in case somebody tries to steal your rims). The one I purchased has also remote fuel-cut off functionality if wired properly. Yes, I my sleeping quality is now a bit better. Not saying that I was deprived of sleep before, because of previously described threats...

Light/rain sensor for Octavia MK3
milanj replied to automass's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
No, you're not missing anything. The one you had before was fitted up to MY2014 or MY 2015 (not sure) - part number is probably 5Q0 955 547. Later it looks like the one you have now - part number is probably 8U0 955 559C. If you would take it off, you would see it has same number of sensors, just that the 4 big ones are not blue colored, but are dark and you can't see them thru the windshield. -
Retro fit footwell lights Octy III
milanj replied to steveb1970's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Are you from Slovenia? VCDS is not a problem, @mtl can help you with that - PM him. As aki78 said, it's much easier to connect it to BCM then to door controllers. Believe me, I did 2 cars already with footwels and door safety lights. If you need help with wiring, you can contact me. -
I updated my MIB2 Bolero few months ago to MIB SW 252 and used VCDS to clear out the error. Method was exactly same as for MIB1 and error was cleared for me. VCDS CODING:1) 5F (Infotainment) module, Adaptations, channel: 'Confirmation of installation change'2) Note your current coding3) Start Windows calculator and set it to 'Programming mode' and select 'HEX' option4) Calculation: (current coding) Xor C9D25) Change the adaptation channel to the new (just calculated) code6) VCDS main screen, 'Auto-Scan'7) Check for fault codes (generated by the update) and clear them (software version, interrupted communication, etc.)Note that VCDS shows your code on the adaptation channel with a space ('xx xx' format). You have to remove the space before you calculate your new code.At the point you enter your new (calculated) code, insert the space again.EXAMPLE (don't use these values):'1A 1A' (original coding of the adaptation channel)1A1A Xor C9D2 equals D3C8Enter it as 'd3 c8' (with space and lower case) on the adaptation channelIf your original code starts with zero(s) just remove them before calculating (if it's 0AFB for example calculate with AFB)

1.6 tdi engine differences
milanj replied to Robertino's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
On 110 version torque kicks in a bit earlier, gives feeling of a bit more jumpy engine/car at lower gears. I have 110 and my friend has 105 and he's the one noticing it. 1.6 105bhp driving experience is more like old 1.9 105 bhp TDI's ... Is the 15 plate with 110 bhp an greenline? I think 110 version was in general (for all models) released with MY2016, but for greenlines earlier. -
That's just overdoing it. Not needed unless you really have some giant hands.

Post your photos of the new Face Lift models
milanj replied to themanwithnoaim's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Not sure if you guys noticed it but this must be some sort of "factory fault model" anyway... They've put the steering on the wrong side. -
You can try accessing and doing it "under the hood" without "bumper off" thing, more or less blindly. I did it. I used a small hole saw to help me easier crack open the rear access hole on the headlight, then I replaced them blindly by touch & feel. Took me like 45 minutes for both. This has been discussed a lot on the forum (search is your friend). Some pics of my job:

8U0 955 559B VCDS default coding
milanj replied to milanj's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
No definite answer to this one. Some claim it does, some claim it doesn't (legally). It seems the common experience is that dealers don't make problems with this, but at the end it's at your own risk. -
8U0 955 559B VCDS default coding
milanj replied to milanj's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
The rain closing is problematic on MIB2 cars. It works for me only first 90 seconds after locking the car, after that BCM goes to some sort of hibernate and it stops working. SO don't bother with it, even if it's not working from the start - you won't get much of thus function anyway. -
ParkPilot (occasional) problem
milanj replied to milanj's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
My shows error "only" if I start the car, with gear in reverse... If I start the car in neutral or other gear and wait few seconds before I switch to reverse, error doesn't show. So I learned basically not to leave the car in reverse when parked, but rather in 1st gear. -
ParkPilot (occasional) problem
milanj replied to milanj's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
No. I even updated my Bolero to SW 252, where in release it is said it fixes some occasional problems with park pilot... Error still pops out few times / month. -
Front indicators are PWY24W. Can be done without bumper off. Harder, need strong fingers & some skill, but dooable. Pictures attached. On 4th picture there's pretty much all the tools I needed. Round saw was used to incision the opening, which was then fully broken out using wooden part of hammer. Grease I used to grease the seal on repair kit, wasn able to push it in fully (access is very limited) before that.

Bolero MIB2 software update 252
milanj replied to Aes3's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Hej guys. Just installed this update. Did it while I was driving to work (yes, engine-on, start-stop off, bluetooth off, upgrade while driving) - it took approx. 30 minutes and noticed no problems whatsoever. My hardware is H24 and previous version was 241. As some users already suggested, I unpacked ISO with 7Zip fully to SD card, then accessed the update function with an long press of MENU button. Tryied upgrading via USB day before, but USB option in upgrade menu was grayed out and only SD card was enabled. I did the upgrade mainly because of promised fixes for rear-view camera, where occasionally I get errors (e.g. if I leave the car in reverse when parked and upon startup it then shows me error "Parking pilot currently not available"). Will see if update improves things... Other changes I didn't notice yet. Still have to plug in VCDS and look for possible errors - not sure if version confirmation via diagnostics is required, but there was a screen suggesting something like that at the end of upgrade.. -

milanj replied to milanj's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
For me, red to reverse, brown to permanent, black to ground, did the trick. But be advised, my camera is 5TA827566B - so it might be different with yours.
