    Karoq recall

Here is a link to check your car http://recall.skoda-auto.com/004/en-com You might think that if your car is affected then all you have to do is once you have conformation all you have to do is contact your dealer. But it is not that simple - First of all the recall check only tells you you car is affected or not - It does not tell you what the recalls are. eg Dear customer, - a recall campaign has been found for the entered VIN It tells you to contact your dealer but when I did so I was told as far as they knew my car was not affected. I rang customer sevice and after a long phone call an adviser confirmed there were in fact two advisories on my car but I did not need to worry because it did not affect the safety. I then used the web chat to ask about the issues and then finally discovered that The Recalls on your KAROQ are 23CE S-Fuel line and 60E3 W-Drain valve. I'm sorry to learn that you had not received a recall letter for this, I appreciate this is not what you have come to expect from ŠKODA. So The fuel line fault could cause a leak and I presume could deposit diesel fuel on the road This IS a safety issue for other road users. And as for the 60E3 W-Drain valve - this is the sun roof drain and could soak the front carpets - not a safety issue but not very pleasant and something that I want to find in my car But Skoda do not think that it is worth informing us customers about - Shame on them
  7. I had this problem on a MK1 Fabia VRS and several other manual skoda models - it comes as a bit of a shock when it happens. It seemed to occur if the revs drop to low and is an engine control feature
  8. I had this on my Karoq yesterday - I had drinen the car a few hundred meters when I had to stop and get out for a moment. Got the message several times and so I tried locking and unlocking whilst sat in the car then is worked ok

  10. From the Goverment advice page You can also go for a walk or exercise outdoors if you stay more than 2 metres from others.
  11. Pleased for you. I pick mine up Tomorrow
  12. Hi I had a First Edition XC40 for a short time and found it an exellent car - all the bells and whistles that you could whish for - you can even start it from your smart phone so that ic can warm up before you go out. I had a few niggles one was the key battery went flat and left me stranded but luckily only a short distance from home - two I fitted a dash cam too near the rear view mirror and this affected the lane guidence but that was easily solved - and three I found the rear collision very sensitive it kept braking as I was backing out of my drive onto a busy main road - but I would reccomend it to anyone a very safe and comfortable car. The adaptive cruise control was amazing. You might also consider a Ford Kuga as a cheaper replacement - I would suggest that you test them both.
  13. looks like there is no f in Scala

    New Car Ordered

Get yourself a spare keyfob battery - mine went flat after four months, and you need a screwdriver to change it. and dont fit a dash cam near the rear view mirror it messes with the driver aids if you have them.

  16. I booked the car into the dealers for last Thursday and took it in on the Wednesday so that they could try it from cold. when I arrived I asked to speak to their head technician to explain my problem after a 20 minute wait he marched past me in reception and jumped in the car to test it and when he came back he told me there was nothing wrong with the brakes . I said that I would prefer that he tested it from cold the following day which he agreed to do. The following day I got a phone call to say my car was ready and no fault could be found and that they had tested the brakes on the brake tester and had used the brake fluid tester and bled the brakes. but could not fault the brakes. So I was surprised to find a big improvement in the pedal and the braking. How could they improve it without knowing they had done so. ???? I just hope that the brakes do not deteriorate again.
  17. What do you call a long way Mine travels 3" initially and then probably another 1/2" if I keep my foot on the pedal !
  18. (Your car. Your choice) correct but the 7 other Yeti's I have owned all had exemplary brakes ( Get someone professional to look at it ) I have had 3 so called professional's look at it so far. I have been told by the dealers that the brakes on the later Yeti's are supposed to be different - this seems a poor excuse and my reason for posting on here is to get feedback from anyone with a similar car. With a firm push on the pedal I have at least 3 inches of travel whilst stationary with the engine running !!!!
  19. Extract from manual New brake pads New brake pads have to first “grind in” because these do not initially have the best possible braking effect. Therefore, drive especially carefully for the first 200 km or so.
  20. Thanks Allan There may be a difference between the new petrol and the diesel models. This is my 7th 2ltr diesel yeti and that is what I am comparing it to - what is annoying me most is that they improve as I drive it but the next time I go out they feel rubbish for the first mile or so. I know I can adjust my driving to compensate and leave a bigger stopping distance but if some one were to stop suddenly or pull out on me I could be in trouble ! I will have to leave it overnight at a dealer ans see what happens.
  21. Thanks with the engine of and the vac gone the pedal has no initial travel an is pretty solid but still can be pressed another 3/4 inch with firm pressure with the engine running the pedal will go almost to the floor fairly rapidly - I have noticed the pedal dropping on other cars that I have owned but nothing as dramatic as this one.
