  1. Thanks for the suggestions fellas. Took the sunroof to bits and removed its rubber seal and it's housing. They were full of what can only be described as a sandy, muddy residue. Cleaned all this out, washed the car today and so far, no leaks, although I suspect only a good few days of solid rain will truly tell me if there are still any leaks. The tailgate still wants rather badly replacing, but again, no leaks yet, possibly because I smothered it overexuberantly in duct tape.
  2. Hey guys, Just wondering if anyone could give me a few pointers as to common areas for water ingress in the felicia estate(other than the front windscreen). Bought the car a few weeks ago and I'm judging from all the water leaks that the seals are all original after 100k miles. Water seems to collect in the little trough under the boot carpet, and secondly in the offside boot stowage compartment (behind the cover). Not only this but I had a feel around the insulation in the front footwells and the passenger side is dry as a bone whereas a small patch of the driver's side is a tiny bit damp, but not wet. I should add that there aren't any holes or anything in the bodywork, other than the boot, which is shot and needs replacing, but the boot seals seem good. Naturally, the sunroof leaks too, quite badly - but am I right in thinking that it's just sealed with sealing tape? I looked on the part diagrams on VAG boards, and I couldnt see any seals or anything, just tape. Sorry to ask so much, but I thought someone would know of particular trouble spots, as I can't seem to concretely indentify the source of any of the leaks. Cheers guys, JJ
  3. Hey guys, Having just bought a wreck of a Felicia as my first car, I have a feeling I'm going to be popping up here every two seconds asking silly questions, so I though I might as well introduce myself. I sold my Honda CB500 bike and in its place bought a Felicia 1.6 GLXi Estate, and err... well, I'm bloody impressed if I'm honest, despite the car having indefinately seen better days - the interior smells of old man and the steering wheel is sticky with what seems to the same old mans sweat, mmmm The exterior is reminiscent of Hiroshima, that is, a bit of a disaster... I may be slightly exhaggerating, just unpleasantly rusty and bubbly bodywork and a spent tailgate with a hole rusted through which isn't practical to fix. A good start to car ownership then =] But anyway, I'm JJ, I'm 18, new to driving and I can honestly say that having driven my Dad's diesel 307 estate for two months prior to the Felly, I much prefer the felly in so many ways despite it's humorous lack of mod cons and my god, the boot is cavernous, isn't it? Anyway, I could go on, and if any of you could care less, I've got a few pics I might post up.
