  1. The car starts no problem in cold weather with the SAI delete, the only running issue I had was a split hose from the crankcase to the inlet manifold was causing a lean on bank one fault. I fitted a Cloude9 catch can kit and that cured the issue.
  2. Thanks, I've owned it for four years now. Just coming up for 80k miles, not bad for 17 years old!
  3. Had the car mapped at JP Tuning in Hawick, it now makes 200bhp and 250lbft (340nm) Also had the SAI mapped out, had to unplug the haldex as it's only a 2WD rolling road.
  4. Been a while since I've updated this thread, car is still running well and has had a few upgrades this past year.
  5. Would be worthwhile replacing the four plastic pipe connections for alloy ones.
  6. I would go to Gretna again for sure 👍
  7. Carried out the SAI delete, wasn't too bad a job and thankfully no EML on.
  8. Forge breather hoses along with a powdercoated cam cover.
  9. I bought a set of spiders and had them refurbished but decided to sell them on.
  10. Alloy gearbox shifter bracket bushes.
  11. ECS Tuning dogbone and coilpacks.
  12. https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-car/volkswagen/bora/genuine-tt-jacking-points-jack-pad-kit/
  13. The rivets in the differential broke and made a mess of the gears, I had a diesel final drive ratio fitted so now the car cruises at 2500 rpm at 70mph instead of 3000rpm.
  14. Hi there, thought I'd better update this thread. Decided to go all out and replaced the timing belt and water pump, along with the tensioners and auxiliary belt. I also replaced the plastic water pipe connections with alloy ones, removed the SAI and fitted a new thermostat. The car now sits at 90°C with no fluctuations.
  15. Fox (Germany) stainless cat back exhaust.
  16. Changed the rear diff oil and serviced the haldex while it was out.
  17. KW V1 front coilovers with Powerflex top mounts and Audi TT hub carriers. Audi TT front subframe with Golf R32 anti roll bar and cast lower arms.
  18. Fitted 312mm front brakes with Vagbremtech J hook discs and 256mm vented rears along with Goodridge stainless hoses.
  19. Not posted for a while, got the car back on the road September 2019. Passed it's mot no problem, though it should have considering the time and money put into it 😄
  20. Hello there. I own a 2004 Octavia 4x4 turbo and have noticed a coolant temperature fault, the car sits at 90°C but when I switch on the climatronic the temp drops to 60°C and in some cases brings on the eml. I replaced the coolant temp sensor but this didn't cure the problem, could it be the climatronic unit that's at fault?
  21. I bought mines from BR Car Sales in Glenrothes two years ago, only had 50k miles on it.
  22. Fitted a G60 flywheel (10kg) and VR6 clutch, supplied by darkside Developments.
  23. Been a while since I posted any updates, had the gearbox overhauled (£900) The differential rivets had broken and went through the gears making a fair mess, the differential now has bolts fitted and I have a higher ratio fifth gear so it now does 2500rpm at 70mph rather than 3000rpm.
