So it just got picked up. Sad to see it go, but it made sense. It was due to go to Toot-toot yesterday - but i got an even better offer through Wizzle - I would strongly recommend both these companies if you are looking to sell - in 3 years and 4 months of ownership I lost a total of £3000 on the price I paid for it brand new. - So less than £1000 a year. Deciding on what to do next- we may end up electric, so could be over on the Enyaq pages soon. Happy Kodiaq'ing - I'll miss mine!

Well.. I received a better offer from an alternative company, so cancelled the wbac visit. The car is being collected next week. I'll let you know how it goes. M.

It is going on Wednesday to one of the car supermarkets. (Toottoot or wbac, both offers the same) , unless I come up with a plan to get any more for it or have a sudden change of heart and keep it. M.

Maybe most of you wont be old enough to remember the Dukes.. anyhow. Apologies for another thread from me, but you may know I am now in the middle of choosing a new car. I'll be selling my Kodiaq (I do love it, and it has been a great car) but I cant keep it given that I can sell it for just £3250 less than I got it for 40 months ago - A depreciation rate of £80 odd quid a month due to the current chip shortage. We're lucky enough to have two cars (even though the other is a 10 year old Octavia)- so happy to cope as a one car family till things improve in the car supply market. The only reason for the post I guess is to let anyone that doesn't know this is a great time to sell your car. A fair chance I wont be staying with Skoda for my next purchase - which is a shame, but I guess I just fancy a change. M.

Not really - It was the 1.5 TSI DSG - I tried hard to like it, but it is hard to switch to it when you have been driving a TDI DSG . There is no way I'd be able to make the switch and be happy with the choice.

I went to the very nice Marshalls Skoda in Letchworth this afternoon. They were superb, and let me drive the 1.5tsi. No time limit or mileage limit - Just checked my license - confirmed I was insured, and told me to enjoy the car. Nice chap in there too. M.

In terms of pricing - I'm using Autoebid - The XC60 is discounted by about 9% but still coming in at around £40k with a basic spec + metallic paint and no other options. For comparison the Kodiaq is coming in with a 19% discount, with Drive the deal a little higher. M.

I'm a 50 year old bloke - so I've test driven a few cars in my lifetime. Today a Skoda dealer wanted me to sign up to a £1000 excess to test drive a car for 30 minutes. Is this reasonable/normal? I test drove a car from the same dealership 3 years ago for a whole day with no excess. I declined the test drive. I've discounted 3 alternatives to the Kodiaq today - so looks like I will be staying with Kodiaq - These were Seat Tarracco - very similar obviously - but not quite as nice to sit in. VW Tiguan - nowhere near as spec'ed up for the money you have to spend Volvo XC60- I love it and want one - but have to face the facts that it is too expensive. Cheers. M.

Hi all - Thanks all for taking the time to respond. I guess my priorities are a little different to what they were when I bought my current Kodiaq. Fuel efficiency was high on the list then - not such an issue now my mileage has practically halved I certainly wont be falling into the £40k trap - which rules out the a fair few of my options in any case. I think my only realistic engine in my scenario is the 1.5 Petrol . So it will either be that after a test drive, or a move away from the Kodiaq to something else - possibly even away from Skoda(which will be a first time in 12 years!) M.

Hi all- After much deliberation and an increase of another £1500 in the value of my in the last 6 weeks, I reckon I am likely to now change my 2018 Edition (diesel 2wd ) for a new sportline. (rather than an SE L as the Edition trim is no longer available) My mileage has considerably reduced from an expected 18k a year to about 10k a year due to working from home I like the Diesel engine - but those mileage figures tell me it makes absolute sense to get the Petrol version. I'll obviously take the 1.5 petrol for a test drive, but before I do - does anyone have any thoughts that I will be losing too much power, and that I will hate the switch? I'm prepared to get a diesel in any case if I hate the petrol- but just wondered what peoples thoughts were. Thanks. M.

Hi Doombar - No issues with DTD - I never used them personally, but I know others that have. in reality any warranty work will be picked up by your local Skoda dealership. (you won't have to take it to the other side of the country) What i did when I got my Kodiaq (like plenty of others i am sure) - is just get your local dealer to match the DTD or Carwow price. Then you get the best of both worlds. i was chatting to a dealer a while ago, and he said the fun has gone out of car negotiation now. people walk in, tell them the car and the spec that they want, and tell them how much they will pay for it (the DTD price) . Leaves the salesman with a choice on accepting the sale at that price, or losing it to another dealer. M.

Hi All. There is a chance I will be swapping out my 2018 Edition for a new facelift SE L. Is there a document anywhere that I can see the difference in spec between these please? Alternatively can anyone let me know what the 2021 facelift models have (if anything) over the 2018 versions. Mine is equipped with Leather seats - Not fussed about the shift to the half/half seats. Adaptive Cruise Control (I wont really be fussed about adding it again) Lane Assist (I think this is what it is called - but a warning when pulling out if someone is there) Rear View Camera - I would have to get this again. heated front screen I presume the facelift SE L does not come with any of those? Thanks for this guys. I didn't realise there was a temporary increase in used prices at the moment. Looks like I can't get anywhere close to the price I paid for my current car in 2018 either (even with a slight drop in spec) - so I may be keeping it after all. Good point about the extended wait and loss in current car value too. It was a nice sounding idea at least! M.

Evening all. I have a dilemma. I have a 3 year old Kodiaq 'Edition' Diesel (2WD) with 36k miles on it. I like it lots. There is no issue with it. Including dealer/manufacturer discount it cost £27,500. (Car was £28,500, less a £1000 'petrol card' given to us by Skoda. (two free services too) I entered the detail into WBAC and it came up with a valuation of £21,500. I thought that was pretty good - and I got similar figures on similar car buying sites. So.. The way I am looking at it is that depreciation on this car has been £6k for 38months worth of driving. £158 a month, or £1900 a year. couldn't get a similar specc'ed car for even close to that on a lease deal. I reckon that is pretty good value. My question is - if I was able to get a similar deal on a new Kodiaq (around 27/28k) - Is it worth selling it and buying a new one. I know the Edition has been discontinued - but I could live with an SE L. (There really isn't that much difference) - Also I am guessing the delays in supply have increased?! I usually buy cars and keep them till they are 10-11 years old- but the numbers in this case tell me it may be worth swapping it given the low depreciation It just seems that it would be a cheap way to extend the 10 year cycle. Hi all - I've not been here in a while. Good news I guess - No issues with the car and the excitement of buying it has now worn off..! I have a question that hopefully someone can answer - Are there any options for a bicycle rack (thinking 3 or even 4 bikes!) of some sort on the car? I haven't got a tow bar. Also I don't want bikes on the roof as I think they will be too high and a nightmare to get up there and down again. I fear it's going to be a disappointing answer. Charlie.

Hi all. Hope someone can help. We have a 61 plate 1.4tsi with 140k miles on it. We are losing coolant - No obvious signs of a leak anywhere that I can easily see. When I top it up, it is fine for a week or two, then the warning light comes on again, and sure enough it it pretty much all gone. Is this likely to be the water pump (I've done a little research) - Could it be anything else? Any idea what is it likely to cost to fix? We have had the car from new, and would like to keep it running for a little longer -- so not keen on replacing it just yet - Thanks. M.

Hi All - Hope someone can help. Ive taken to using Andriod Auto for most of my driving - It works really well. When I want to change radio stations though - I need to press Home/Radio/choose radio station/Home/Android Auto. Bit of an annoyance when driving. When using multidot display on the dasboard, I can select the Audio option - and then I have all the DAB stations known to man. Is there a way to ONLY display the ones I have already saved in my favourites instead? it will make it much easier/quicker - Thanks -

Similar Issue with mine about 6 months ago - Local dealer was good enough to swap it out for a new unit whilst being serviced.

Hi All. Hope someone can help. Following an earlier thread of mine a mechanic pal of mine tried to fit a replacemnt unit to our car. The part was incorrect, and I am in the process of returning it (tried my luck with ebay) The actual part in the car is 5K0.953.569.e Does anyone know where I can purchase this part? I've seen second hand ones on ebay for about £90, and looks like it is the same part as is fitted on a Mark 6 golf. I'd like a new one if possible/ reasonable cost - but if not, I'll head down the second hand route. Thanks. M.
