  1. I have managed to resolve all of the minor niggles I had with the vehicle over the first five days of ownership. A mix of YouTube help videos, time sat in the driveway and a £6 USB-C memory stick from Amazon have sorted things. My only very minor issue that I am left with is an inability to turn off the Easy Access seat function. I am over 6ft tall and don't need this function but it seems that you can only switch off Easy Access if your Enyaq has electric seats for both driver and passenger. My car only has an electric driver seat.
  2. 10 month old 85 Edition in silver with less than 3k miles arrived home 3days ago.
  3. I have just taken delivery of my sixth Skoda, a 10 month old Enyaq 85 having owned a Karoq for the previous six years. Technology has moved on a bit in those six years and the few annoying infotainment issues I had with the Columbus on my Karoq have been magnified 10 fold with the complexity and apparently poor intuitive nature of the Ver 4.0 system in the Enyaq. 1. I found out the hard way that any music files have to be stored on a USB C enabled flash stick rather than SD Card. This seems a backward step as the flash stick has to stay connected in an exposed area. 2. It will now only play my music files in alphabetic/folder order rather than random 3. I set up the My Skoda Connect to reflect the outgoing Karoq and Incoming Enyaq. This worked for about 20mins and then I got an email telling me it had deleted the Enyaq??? 4. The online owners manual is a waste of time for any infotainment related issues and the online tutorials aren't much better. I would consider myself relatively up to date on technology and assumed that human machine interface on a new car would be straightforward. I wonder how some owners get on if they aren't familiar with modern systems??? Overall though, the car is a huge step up from ICE and the Karoq. Power is amazing albeit a heavy right foot uses lots of battery. The quality and driving experience are also extremely good. Interior space is massive. Matrix headlights are outstanding I'm waiting on Octopus to give me a date for the installation of an Ohme Pro wallbox (I have read numerous horror stories on this regard)
  4. The change had nothing to do with the DAB issue I hasten to add. I had six very good years with the Karoq and the DAB issue was the only problem in over 50K miles. Hopefully the Enyaq will be just as good
  5. I have resolved the issue finally - I've just traded in the Karoq for an Enyaq 85 Edition 😁
  6. I actually purchased a used amplifier off eBay from a scrapyard but haven't gotten round to fitting it.
  7. I'm sure it's been asked many times and numerous online road test reports tell you the physical dimensions etc however, I am looking for owners opinions of each. I am looking to buy a used 85 in the next few months and deciding on this spec was relatively straight forward but the body style is far harder. There a plenty of well priced coupe's available in every spec (except L&K) in my £35K budget but far less in SUV spec. This brings in the resale/depreciation aspect of the coupe. What do the owners of each have to say about the pro's and cons of each. I have a medium sized dog that often goes in my current vehicle (Karoq) so this should also be a factor. The other option if affordable is to wait till next year for the Elroq.
  8. I purchased my 2018 Karoq Edition brand new in Aug of that year and used the Skoda (VW) Finance package that gave me £700 of the screen price and included two free services. I did the routine method at the time which was to pay off the Finance within a few days and was only charged about £4 in interest but kept the perks. I'm potentially looking at my next new Skoda and wondered if this loophole was still in place or have Skoda/VW stopped this practice?
  9. I too have the 19"crater rims on my 2018 1.5TSI Edition. I have just changed all four tyres at 42K miles which is pretty good going. The rears had a decent amount of tread but were starting to crack and split (MOT advisory) They were 235/40 R19 Pirelli Cintuarto. The replacement cost for these was over £200 per corner however, Adsa Tyres supplied and fitted 4x Yokohama 235/40R19 96W XL BluEarth-GT AE51 at a cost of £523. They are every bit as good so far as the Pirellis and rolling resistance is still good for 40-42mpg average. I agree that he 19" rims are firm but I would say harsh and so far have not had any pothole damage despite living in Wiltshire with the worst roads in the UK.
  10. I foolishly signed up for a three service agreement with Skoda at a monthly cost of £30 for 24 months when my Karoq passed it 5yr point. This equates to £240 per service which is expensive for what they do but is the going rate for a main dealer. In theory this is fine however I didn't read the detail regarding spark plugs etc. Rather than pay an additional charge of £105 for the plug change, I ordered my own and changed them for about £50. I've attached a copy of the service plan Overview FPS 3 Services.pdf
  11. This may be unrelated but I had all four tyres changed recently on my 2018 Karoq 1.5TSI. When I collected the car I had six new faults show up on the dashboard all relating to the Stop/start system even though nothing had been touched other than removing all four wheels to fit new tyres. The tyre fitter said that he had seen or heard of this issue on other VAG vehicles. He plugged in the OBD scanner and cleared all faults and everything has been fine since. Your issue might be triggered by the new battery but any independent garage with an OBD laptop/machine should be able to clear the fault and certainly for less than £80. It only takes a couple of minutes
  12. I have a 19" Crater wheel with a good condition Pirelli 235/40R19 96W tyre for sale. It was on the front nearside and does have some scuff marks around the rim but these are cosmetic and not structural. It won't take much to have them repaired by an alloy wheel repair company. I recently changed all four tyres and was able to purchase a very good condition rim from a breakers yard hence why this one is surplus to requirements,
  13. I've owned my Karoq Edition since 2018 and have owned three different mobile phones in that time. My first phone connected with the infotainment (Columbus) system without issue and all calls were via the car. My other two phones however are patchy at best and I don't know if this is down to settings within each phone or the the car. Sometimes calls are connected through the Columbus via bluetooth but this only happens about 50% of the time. The rest of the time the phone can be answered/connect using the car system however, the phone doesn't automatically feed the audio via the car and you have to access the phone settings and select which bluetooth connection you require. I don't understand why I don't get the car being the default option every time I need to make or receive calls whilst driving. Any ideas?
  14. I have had a Skoda Fixed price servicing contract since I bought the car new in 2018. I was checking the service plan recently and was shocked to read in the small print that spark plugs were not part of the deal and that an additional charge of £105 was required to replace them. I purchased four NGK95929 plugs for £47 and will change them myself as my car is now at 42000 miles. Access to the spark plugs isn't the easiest but there are videos online showing you what is required. I still think the diy option is best and saves nearly £60.
  15. I have a 2018 Karoq Edition with Columbus. I have paired my phone but every time I make a call my phone switches from the car audio to the phone audio setting meaning I can't make or take calls whilst driving. I don't know if this is a phone or Columbus issue. Any answers?
  16. I started a thread on here earlier this year with exactly the same issue.
  17. I have no previous experience of the Yeti but any dealer worth his salt will or should give you a full handover before leaving the forecourt. This is the ideal time to ask the dealer about any bits of kit that are new to you. When I bought my 2018 Edition it was brand new and consequently the auto-braking system was defaulted to its most sensitive setting. This proved a major shock when the red light came on, the audible alarm went off and the brakes came on sharply whilst in the fast lane of a dual carriageway. Enjoy your new purchase
  18. I feel a bit of a numpty as I was unaware that the electronic lumber support on the drivers seat was a four way adjust, I thought it only worked in/out not up and down as well. Consequently I have adjusted the lumber support and played with the various other seat settings. A bit early to say but initial indications are promising. Thanks for everyone's help
  19. I have a 2018 Karoq Edition that I have owned since new but have been experiencing lower back pain whenever I drive it and have had this for a couple of years now. Being the Edition model, it rides on 19" rims and the ride is firm. Has anyone had similar issues and if so have have they changed for smaller wheels or considered after market seat cushions. I don't want to sell the car but equally don't want the pain. Any proven suggestions gratefully considered.
  20. I own a 2018 Karoq 1.5TSI that has proven utterly reliable in the almost four years I have owned it until recently. On three occasions on Tues night, the alarm went off for no apparent reason. I tried disabling the interior sensor but made no difference. Yesterday I fully charged the battery and drove the car for about 40-50 miles. I came home, parked up and again, the alarm went off. By coincidence the car is booked in with my local dealer (Hendy Skoda, Salisbury) for an ot and annual service in a fortnights time. They can't check the vehicle before then and have said the charge will be £132 per hour just to plug it in and diagnose the fault. Has anyone else had this same issue and how or what is generally the problem?
  21. It would have to be Phoenix Orange and the 21" wheels for me
  22. The same article talks about faster charging, better display graphics, battery conditioning etc
  23. According to the link below https://www.electrifying.com/blog/article/skoda-updates-enyaq-with-speedier-charging-and-infotainment-system-improvements SKODA has updated the optional Assisted Drive Package Plus with Travel Assist. The new version includes Narrow Lane Assist where the car recognises temporary yellow lines, barriers and cars in the next lane and guides the car through narrowed spaces. In addition, the steering wheel travel assist button will now allow drivers to toggle between travel assist modes as well as activating and de-activating the system. When the vehicle is started again the last mode used will be active. While the changes are almost entirely software based, SKODA has yet to confirm when these features will be offered to existing owners. Electrifying.com understands that existing cars will be able to receive updates when Over The Air (OTA) software updates are introduced later this year.

  25. I've just taken a test drive in an (almost) top of the range Kia EV6 GT S line RWD followed by the same route in a base model Enyaq 60 loft. Both cars impressed me as a Karoq owner but I continually thought that the EV6 was trying too hard to be ultra chic and modern especially with the curved wrap around dash. Despite having a sunroof (non-panoramic) the interior felt really dark and gloomy and the rear view felt like the mirror was on anti-dazzle setting. I thought the wing mirror cameras though were excellent and the interior overall was more adventurous than the Enyaq. What surprised me most was that in normal driving the Envaq felt just as rapid especially when pulling away but the whole package felt a much nicer place and was a logical and intuitive step up from my Karoq, I'm 6'3" and everything felt close to hand and easily reachable whereas the Kia was more of a stretch and the controls felt more awkward. Overall (based on 2 identical route test drives over 10miles of mixed roads) EV6 GT S line RWD - 8 out of 10 Enyaq 60 Loft - 8.5 out of 10
