  1. To close this topic off. I updated the infotainment software to the 0480 release, upgrading from 0475. This has resolved the problem, DAB radio fine now!
  2. Updated to 0480. Took a while to get the right SD card format, but then got it ok. Huge success! I drove the same route as yesterday ...and had zero DAB dropouts! Thanks!! Now I'm conflicted. I'm very happy this worked. But at the same time I'm annoyed that Skoda sold me this car (second hand) with a '19 number plate with such defective radio software in the first place!
  3. My current infotainment version. The DAB radio constantly loses reception, I am hoping an update would help, if there is one please?
  4. Thanks! We found the Skoda dealer in Salisbury had higher car prices than the Reading one, but I don't know about their services. But if a dealer cannot find the fault, it is worrying. I wonder if I can get a separate dab aerial plugged in to test with. Or I could seek a car audio specialist place I guess.
  5. Hi, We have a 2018 Fabia and a 2019 Karoq. The Fabia can drive around without losing the DAB signal at all (Capital radio, for example). Our Karoq, which seems to have the same infotainment system (bigger screen though), loses DAB signal a lot when driving on exactly the same routes (Berkshire, mainly,). The radio stations and settings on both cars are identical. The Fabia came with a longer roof aerial compared to the Karoqs 'stub' aerial. But it seems unlikely to be the cause. Has anyone else noticed such Karoq poor DAB reception?
  6. Hi, Fabia SE 110 from June 2018, just purchased. Under the driver's seat is some wiring which appears to have dropped out from the seat above. The passenger side has this wiring in/attached. As far as I can tell this car has no winter pack/heated seat option. No options/buttons for that. And I cannot imagine what else in the seats needs electrics. Before I try to pop it back in, does anyone have some idea of its function please? Also note the plastic tube/look leading up into there from the floor. Thanks in advance to all car detectives out there! Henry
  7. A resurrection of this classic thread, because MK. 1's are are going strong in 2018. I prefer my stereos to be permanent ly powered, so I can listen to it whilst working on the car without the keys in the ignition. Splicing permanent 12V into the switched jack, would it work ok? Any risks? Thanks for s thread, the original post in here has saved me more than a few bob!
  8. My solution was: put a little bit of grease on the new O-ring. The ring is initially quite stiff and frictions up between the sensor and the inside of the hole which it's sealing when pushed in. The petroleum grease allowed it to slip and slide snugly inside for a good fit and flawless seal.
  9. Skoda Fabia 1.9 TDi '54 plate (2004). The biggest problem I've found is in getting a working seal when the new sensor is put back in. Old rubber seal removed, new sensor with seal pushed back in place, retainer clip pushed on. Filled coolant, it was pouring out (which I caught underneath). Removd, O ring still there, pushed back in really firmly and squarly (this is hard to see on this tough-position-model , but since the original post we have phones with cameras to help the process!) No leak initially.. Turn the engine over, system gets up to pressure, immediately starts leaking out again!. Frustrating! Now I'm out of daylight, and will try again tomorrow. Just saying that doing this process on that 1.9 TDI model is a right pain.
  10. Hi, I suffered with bad moisture inside my Fabia windscreen, during winters, for two years. My problem turned out to be leaking rear door seals. The local garage replaced them and did a 'water test' (so they told me... I imagine this involves bloke with hose) to check it was then ok. And, bingo it sorted the problem completely. Before using heavy Air Con, or buying a moisture absorbing gadget, or changing out yur filters, try looking under the carpet by the rear door for signs of moisture after rain. Could be you have the same problem.
