  1. I agree with this comment as I bought my 2008 Octavia with 97,000 on it, it was owned by TBS bank middle management car apparently belt changed at 86,000. Has 135,000 on it now Iv'e had it 3yrs and only replaced the back shockers in that time [leaking] and only issue that is bugging me now is the self levelling xenon's don't auto level just stay down ? other than that its a top motor
  2. I had a similar fault on my 2008 octavia, the car is set up for auto lock at 10mph it locked then when i slowed down for first set of traffic lights it unlocked driving away again it locked again, think I have sorted with a little help from WD40 spray on driver side handle mechanism/ lock catch mechanism - basically did all the locks and catches - touch wood its been three days now and are working ok again
  3. stick on blind spot mirror £2.99 from motorpart shop, really happy with them until I approached my parked car in Asda carpark and noticed someone had obviously got a tad close and side swiped my car taking the full wing mirror I never found it ... renault 12 TL [blast from the past]
  4. Hi Iv'e just recently bought a 2008 140bhp Octavia estate L&K spec and I'm still grinning like a cheshire cat by how good it goes, having been driving a nissan x-trail for 5yrs it is a major step up in power and class. having fun trying to find all bits and bobs to finish it off nicely some proper mats and stuff, missing wheel nut covers and such like, let us know how you get on. bye for now
  5. Welcome Paul I have no doubt you will love the new motor, just take it steady awesome power from the VRS, enjoy posting bye for now
  6. Welcome Sav good choice I myself have just changed my nissan x-trail for a octavia estate and am really happy, plus my back no longer takes a pounding as the octavia is really smooth - happy motoring buddy
  7. Hi everybody I'm Stuart just popped in to say a quick hello,I'm new to skoda well not really the family had a estelle many many years ago but the 08 octavia iv'e just bought is a different world. lovin the drive although it appear slow to some of the VRS versions that fly past me. 2.0 tdi 140bhp is enough for me. I have spent that last 5yrs rattling around in a nissan x-trail, spent more time in the garage than on the road just a bad experience altogether. anyway bye for now, still checking out all the other pages- really good forum must say.
