excellent news! a bit of bodywork here, some springs and nice wheels there, and one very nice car should emerge!
a 130... im guessing green or orangey red?
-
^ as above.
4x98 for the mk1 fav up until late 1992, and early 93 onwards mk2 version were 4x100. offset is between 35 and 45, and you must be careful because if you go for too big an offset you will hit the strut.
if your car is not lowered you can go quite wide (like 8") but if your car is lowered you will need to think carefully before going past 7j, or even 6.5...

remove the strips at the base of the c-pillar and start pulling on the fabric...
-
Alright smartar$e!
it was a very good replica though!
-
It should, and hopefully will when finished, look something like this.
what, you mean, like a replica sport?!
-
dear me.
whats replacing it?

Help!
I picked up the right bulb from Halfords – they had two for one on super bright ones so I’m going to do both sides - the branch I went to couldn’t fit it for me though.
agh! did they give a reason? it's like a gift of a job to change them!
H4 bulb it should be - 472SB?
-
and now for my constructive post...
if it wasn't your fault... guess what?! you have the right, and they'll argue, but you HAVE the right to have your vehicle repaired to the standard it was before it was hit. This means if someone writes off your perfect 4000 mile E-type, they cant just offer you average money for a 40k unrestored car. They can be forced to source one like yours or pay the equivalent for whatever they go for, or fix yours to that standard. They aren't allowed to give a "final offer" as such - it is only over when you say "I accept". So basically, make the other drivers insurance pay whatever it costs to fix. ANd new panels and bumpers are available through Skoda UK iirc.
good luck

Just scrap it and buy a newer car
you suck.:thumbdwn:

connecting block.... classy
indeed. if the car burns to a crisp and that block gets found... guess whos not getting an insurance payout!!
-
OK - I will see what I can do. Sadly, the sticky on mine has gone stale, but it will be a good template. Thinking back, I sold on eBay one of the Skoda rear reflective 'sport' strips - like on the 130 which said 'Skoda' and was a thick affair held with two screws. That was a rare item.
TH
add me too. probably need a couple of each!
-
Do you know exactly what they want it for? Is the car totally standard?
TOTALLY.
OE tyres totally.
lol.

I looked at the price guide in "Classic Cars" last night, and it quotes the S110R and Rapid, but not the S100 saloon series or Estelle saloons.
yeah the rapid is seen as a classic by more companies than accept the estelle, but still quite few.
even my mum couldn't get classic on a rapid in 2005 or 2006...
-
100mm 4 nuts 13" or 14"
VW Golf, Honda Accord, Toyota Corola, Ford Festiva, VW Gol, Susuki Swift, Fiat Punto, Peugeot Junior,
those are some of the car that can share the wheels with yours
i know you have different model names on cars so it can be confusing, but NONE of those wheels will fit a felicia
-
hmm. your car isn't a '1991 felicia', you know...
-
sorry, from 'here', i sort of meant the UK in general - most skoda owners I know are fairly helpful with that. Even some beetle owners - willing to package and meet couriers for me and things like that!
I've just sold my compomotives though :(
-
Space I'll give you. I think you might be able to get the Rapid onto a "classic policy" if it was a weekend car, at which point you could be looking at under £200 fully comp agreed value with a 5000 miles/year cap.
notwithstanding you have to be at least 23, if not 25, to take out a classic policy - and if you meet that criterion, you must also find a company that accepts a rapid as a classic...
its cheaper for me (when i was 22) to insure my 89 estelle as a daily commuter than a weekend car.
IMO a fabia is the better car if you prefer air-con, armchairs and electric windows. if you actually liek to drive, however... there is just one answer. and it's coupe shaped with right-wheel-drive.
-
it would be expensive but you could get some shipped over from here. I've sold chrome steel minilite-style ones and crossspoke compomotives in 15" for them, and most skoda owners are willing to post as long as you pay!
-
and not all - only earlier 4 stud beetle wheels! don't know if it's called a beetle in sweden - maybe VW 1304 or Typ 1 or 2, whichever it is.
you have lots of choice with those mainly in 15" but be aware not all of them will have the same bolt sizes or centre bore, so shims or machinign could be required sometimes...
-
im thinking something to do with heat from all of the description. it isn't running problems - therefore it's electrical, and something probably has a dodgy earth causing it to overload.
coil, ecu and fuseboard (favourite choice) all need felt when it happens again and see which is hot...
-
crazy!
yeah its really hard to tell if it's been properly looked after or not - i'm at the stage i wouldn't trust driving any older car home without knowing the seller!
HGs are a doddle to do though - not like fitting another bigger engine, which ruins the handling...!
-
agree wholeheartedly with Ben above...
and also...
I have indeed...I replaced the fronts with sony xplod 13cm's, then (mines the estate) replaced the front stationary parcel shelf with a sheet of MDF, placed 2x 6x9's in then carpeted over the top so it looks just like the parcel shelf. (Also hid a sub, amp and crossover in the boot :P). Im not a chav or boy racer by any means, but a sound engineer that loves the clarity of his music!
if you are a sound engineer, AND you want clarity, what were you schmoking when you decided 6x9s would help you on this quest?

It's not scrapped as yet (still at the garage), but it will be. Just not worth getting it sorted, or spending any more money on it. The MOT has expired now as well, so that would be required before it could be put back on the road.
Quite frankly it's pointless me throwing money at the damn thing, as I'd never be able to sell it to even recover what it's already had done, MOT and sorting out whatever it is with the ECU.
It is a shame for it to end it's days like this, but that's the way it goes sometimes with old, low value cars. No point in being sentimental about it
money? its the simplest ECU known to man!
this is how you fix it:
remove ECU.
replace with another one from another 1.3 felicia or favorit.
start car.
i mean, i know its complicated and all, and probably you're going to need a lottery win to fund the repair or else take a week off work to do the intensive labour, but sure, nothing simpler than scrapping a perfectly good car otherwise - that's the real fun eh?
p.s.
if you do attempt this high-scale service, you need just 2 similar tools to do it. unfortunately you cant buy them anywhere really, but luckily God graced us with one on the end of each arm, so you might be in luck...
p.p.s.
OLD???!!
