  1. I know it's not completely the same but wife's 2015 1.4tsi Leon needed a new flywheel along with the clutch, that was £1.5k at a VW Indy
  2. Hi all, I've just picked my new (to me) superb 67 plate SE L. On the drive home the android auto kept dropping out. On further inspect the USB port in the front cubby hole seems well worn and the USB cable is a loose fit ( multiple cables tried). Has anyone replaced this and if so, is it a simple enough job? TIA Glynn

  4. Cheers for the gen everyone! I have already test driven a 150dsg (as the dealer did not have a manual in stock) to be fair I was glady surprised! Felt as quick if not quicker compared to my A3 considering the extra size. However the dsg box is still annoyingly hesitant. That previous statement alone has probably set it in my head which way to go as I can just map a 150 to get the extra poke however I'll still try a 190! Now to track down one that is not a million miles away!
  5. Evening all, Looking at returning to the Skoda fold (had mk2 octavia vrs pre-house!) now I have little one on the way. I have set my sights on the superb estate as nothing really compares to it size, tech, value for money etc. My main question is, What is the difference between the 150 and 190 2.0tdi with regards to the engine? Bigger turbo, diff injectors or just mapped different? The reason I ask is I notice the 190 only comes in a DSG which I have at the mo (audi a3 8p 2.0tdi), to be honest its not for me, I prefer a manual. Any info or reviews greatly appreciated!
  6. The DVLA has had a mare recently. Sent mine off through work to get Cat C provisional, came back exactly the same. Turns out they have sent out over 150,000 wrong licenses over the last few months
  7. Disgusting really isnt it. Should be made to cease trading because its obvioulsy a habit of theirs!
  8. Had exactly the same issue beginning of the year. The other persons insurance (hastings) only replied and paid up after my insurance sent court proceddings. Its a pita but they will pay up eventually
  9. Yeah sounds about right. I did some more digging on google and decided to go straight to the actual insurer. Seems like alot of these companies are absolute nightmares to use and you end up paying them money
  10. Hi just after a quick bit of advice if anyone can help? Was involved in an accident today non-fault (but will probs end up 50/50 grr) Phoned up chris knott claimline to start the process of claiming against third party. However the claimline does not actually go to chris knott disappointingly, it goes to an accident management company Winns Solicitors. Just wondered if anyone has had any prior dealings with them before? Also are these no win no fee management companys any good or am I about to get "shafted"?
  11. Muay thai. Easily the most rounded within the "stand up" game
  12. Thats is so wierd to watch! Must be a hoot to drive though. Lovely car!
  13. Dish still required for the main Q box. Only the multi room has no need for the dish
  14. Ive only had it 24hrs but so far seems pretty good better than the clunky virgin media I had
  15. Ive got skyQ just not multiroom. But from what i understand the skyQ minibox connects to the main box via wifi so no need for cables
  16. So a few months ago I purchased an audi a3 8p 2.0tdi off a work colleague and he threw in a pair of barely used winter tyres with the car. The winter tyres are the same as the current summers 225/40/18. So im trying to find a pair of steel wheels to chuck these on to save going backwards and forwards to tyre fitters. Ive tried most of the usual steel wheel sites but they only give me the option of buying 16" steels. Anyone got any ideas of how to get around this?
  17. Ive got the 1.4act FR with tech pack. The act annoys me a little bit as it has to sit in a certain rev range to kick in which is a bit to high to cruise in apart from that is a good car! Wouldnt mind a cupra next either!!
  18. To be fair quite alot of insurers cover us in the forces for leave aslong as it is for operational reasons
  19. Therein lies the problem. Some people do not look after their cats and just let them crack on and eventually end up with endless litters. You speak to any animal charity, there are far too many cats in the UK due to this, thus overwhelming rescue centres as charities have to take them away from careless owners. My cat was rescued from a multiCat household where she was one of 30something cats as the owners had just left them to it and they just kept breeding. When I spoke to the shelter they said it was all too common. Thats why it is highly recommended by the shelters and alot of vets to spay/neuter your cats when you get them. And rescue dont buy!!
  20. My cat has a litter tray and still likes to have a turd in the garden and elsewhere every now and then. We dont purposely send them out to ruin your flower beds lol
  21. Just get them wet. Missus planted a new bed the other week and our own cat started crapping in there. Got her soaked with the watering can last time hasnt done it since!
  22. I said to SWMBO that if your going to keep on the monthly payments, you might aswell do that on a 0% credit card and not have the drama of the finance going tits! This also leads onto the next question... what car to buy next? But thats for another thread!!
  23. The plan is to buy a car with the same value of the corsa. The finance is going to be cleared now anyway.
  24. Think i did not explain it well enough lol My missus has her corsa 1.2 of which the finance doesnt run out till may next year, which once up going to sell so we can purchase a 2nd family sized car. Her sister is currently learning to drive and asked if she could buy the car when we come to sell it. By then she would have been ready to pass her test. Anyhoo turns out she is ready for her test now (she didnt anticipate picking it up that quick) so my missus said well you can buy the car now if you want. So the idea is the sister would pay my missus the money for the car and instead of clearing the finance with that money buy another vehicle of the same value and just carry on with the monthly payments for the corsa. I was never keen and the credit card seems the better option as the missus is pretty much garanteed an acceptance whereas the sister has less chance of being acceptd for the continuance of the finance. Hope the situation seems a bit clearer!
  25. Ive told the missus to get a 0% credit card and pay the remaining balance of with that. Saves the possible hassle with the finance company. Cheers for your input though guys muchly appreciated!
