Did you find anyone? I miss Bannings! They were great.

I have had the rear motor replaced as it made a squeak when moving, a known fault.
Holy thread revival! Mine was squeeking the other day, then stopped. Was your replaced under warranty? Thanks

Hi All
I was turning the car around the other day and reversed up a slight incline into someone's driveway - not steep and not fast.
Suddenly there was a crunch, but it wasn't the front bumper scraping on the road, the car jolted to a stop and there was an error on the dash which I didn't manage to fully read - something about manoeuvre brake?
Put the car back in drive and off I went just fine.
It's a DSG / 4x4 if that helps.
Any ideas?
Thanks

it will probably just be surface rust. the black "painted" parts are not painted very well, at all

All black "painted" suspension parts on mine are looking older than the rest of the car already!

Hi All
A friend has a dash light on because the side airbag sensor (600909606) is faulty, and apparently no longer available from Skoda.
Also, Golf parts are the same but the software if different....
Has anyone come across this? And replaced the part? If so, how?
Thanks

And maybe some good fuel, but this not necessarily confirmed to help.
Mine definately regens more when it hasn't got VPower in it

Morning All
Had weird issue this morning when starting the car - 2018 VRS Diesel DSG 4x4
Car struggled to start on first key turn, but did start. Then as soon as I put the car in Drive and tried to pull away, it stalled.
Tried again and had the same issue, but with "start car manually" message.
I'm assuming this is a low battery issue?
Thanks

First aid kit I reckon.
Correct.
And the two other straps on the left of the pic are for a warning triangle- 1

I use https://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/collections/interior-products/products/detail-factory-black-ultra-soft-detailing-brush-set to dust down first the nooks and cranny's, then a wipe down with a dedicated interior only microfibre and some suitably diluted APC.

Having the same issue present itself around the (hatch) boot edges on my MY2016 - though that's unexpected for a 2019 car, well spotted.
I am due to get the car in for a full 'stage 3 paint correction+' ceramic coating session soon, so I'm sure the fixes + coating is going to provide a hefty bill. Tend not to do many paint fixes myself, though have treated all gravel rash and the small rust areas I've found with the Turtle Wax Scratch Repair & Renew stuff (whether it does anything or not to protect it in the meantime 🙄).
Do update if you get a quote for a fix.
I wouldn't bother with the Turtle Wax stuff - if it does do anything (like hide swirls) then the detailer will just have to work harder to remove it and get back to bare paint to start the correction.

I think it might be time to name and shame the VAG "specialist"

yeah definitely take it up a level. The paint should not be peeling off, unless someone's already re-painted them, badly

mine is certainly slower to start than my old MK4 Golf GT TDI. I always make sure the glowplug light is out too

My 2014 1.2 TSI Octavia gets quite noisy at high speeds. There's a bit of road noise, some vibration and some of wind noise from the drivers window. My old 2003 Golf was quieter.
Same here - I jumped out of my 2018 VRS into my wife's 2003 MK4 GT TDI Golf the other day and was very surprised.

The bass a sub speaker will put out is omni directional so direction and placement is not vital.
I always found that my 2x10" vented box sounded better with the subs facing away from the driver, so it's worth experimenting if possible.

I deep cleaned my plastic covers and used a sealant on them so I'm hoping they keep their colour
-
yes, there should be plastic caps and yes you can paint the "hubs" (I'm assuming you mean the part of the brake disc that is visible through the wheel where the wheel attaches?)

I think they are all like that - mine's always been pathetic.

Labocosmetica energo is great around badges, as the dirt is usually scale from dried water

I bought a relatively expensive "carbon effect" one from a well known retailer, and the quality isn't great. I'd get it PPF'd if it was me.
