  1. We picked up a brand new Kamiq SEL for the wife last week and if I am honest i think that the software is extremely buggy to a point of being useless. So far we have had the following issues: 1. Cannot make a user the 'primary user' - even though driving license confirmed with Skoda I get the error ‘Please try again or call customer service’ - every sinlge time i try - i have reset the head unit countless times and still no joy. 2. Gear suggestion suggest changin from 6th gear down to 1st whilst doing 70 MPH on the motorway! 3. Lane assist icon comes and goes from the "virtual cockpit" and i am pretty sure when its not there its not working. 4. Whenever I try and do anything to do with Skoda Connect in the car it takes 1-2 minutes for thinsg to happen and we are only half a mile from ee/voda/o2/three phone masts I cannot get a straight answer out the supplying dealer as to wether they have done all the software updates as part of the PDI - I seriously doubt they have as I am guessing Skoda will pay them to do updates so i will need to book the car in. Not a very happy bunny at the moment!
  2. Hello, I have a 2017 L&K Combi (190bhp 4X4) and today the Engine Management light has come on. I plugged in my VCDS lead and cleared the fault but within 5 minutes its back... Whilst the car hasnt gone into limp mode, and there is nothing showing in the venicle part of the maxidot - the Fault Priority is 2 which, according to the VCDS manual, is a "The Fault requires an immediate service appointment" Has anyone else had this issue? Knowing my local garage its going to be at least a week before they will look at it and I have got to drive about 400 miles at the end of this week. 1 Fault Found: 28253 - Coolant Pump 3 P26F8 00 [175] - Stuck MIL ON - Confirmed - Tested Since Memory Clear Freeze Frame: Fault Status: 00000001 Fault Priority: 2 Fault Frequency: 1 Mileage: 69569 km Date: 2019.06.24 Time: 18:33:05 Engine speed: 0.00 /min Normed load value: 0.0 % Vehicle speed: 0 km/h Coolant temperature: 69 °C Intake air temperature: 66 °C Ambient air pressure: 990 mbar Voltage terminal 30: 11.520 V Unlearning counter according OBD: 40 Engine status: COENG_READY Engine status-Test_Program_Co Eng st COMPU VERB UBYTE: 1 Readiness: 1 1 0 0 1
  3. Hi, I have a VCDS lead (HEX+CAN) that I am selling on ebay and a potential buyer has asked if its unlimited VIN version. I honestly cannot remember if there were options for limited vins when I bought it. Is there anyway of finding out in the VCDS software if the interface unlimited VIN? Or are all HEX+CAN lead unlimited VIN? Many Thanks in advance
  4. The car is at the dealers at the moment and the service manager is taking it home tonight to see if he can get it to fault. If they dont get it to fault then I will be contacting skoda and asking for a loan car until its fixed!
  5. Good Afternoon We took delivery of a new Kodiaq Scout TDI 4X4 about a month ago. Since the day we picked the car up we have been having issues with it occassionally stalling. It seems to be when decelerating (with the clutch still out), so approaching roundabouts and junctions etc. We have turned off the Stop-Start and it still happens. Unfortunately the dealer cannot find any fault with the car but its definately got a fault - it has done stalled when I have been driving and the wife notices it more (its her car) Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?
  6. Hello The little key that you use to open the car door if the fob is t working has fell out of my fob key . does anyone know if just this “dumb” door key is available as a spare from skoda or do they sting for a new complete fob with key and coding ? Many thanks lee
  7. Got an email back from Rosstech asking me to download the beta version (even though enabled automatic download of beta versions in VCDS and it said that nothing was found??) Installed the Beta - did a scan - all works and allowed me to change the Power Trunk options which i wanted to do Kudos to Rosstech for the quick response
  8. I have checked for latest versions (Including betas) and it says that there isnt any available. I have maiiled support @ rosstech to see if they can give some guidance
  9. Just done a full scan and lots of the controllers are saying unsupported vehicle - Im on the latest version of VCDS (17.1.3 x64) so it looks like it doenst support the new Octavia yet :-( Do Rosstech need the scan results to help with their R&D ?
  10. I had exactly that happen on my old Superb - Garage tried to charge me £80 to repair it - Dug my heals in and then Skoda agreed to pay half and the garage agreed to pay half. I genuainely hadnt knocked the thumbwheel and beleive it was a manufacturing fault If your car is still under warranty just dig your heals in :-)
  11. I have taken delivery of a brand new Octavia 1.4TSI SEL today and have the optional power trunk fitted. Its really annoying that the only way to close it is to press the button on the boot lid so, as i have VCDS, i want to enable the closing of the boot using the Remote and Button on the dash but just wanted to check that plugging the VCDS into the facelifted vehicle wont have a detrimental effect.. The only reason for asking is that im sure that I read on one of the threads on briskoda that someone had taken delivery of a brand new car and scanning with VCDS removed all coding meaning that it had to be sent on a tow truck back to the dealer - and i dont want that to happen to me :-)
  12. I have a my15 superb l&k dsg estate which is now awesome (after a new mechtronics pack after 3 months) There is 1 small issue I have with the sound system - as I drive along the bass is brilliant, as soon as I stop at a junction and the engine stops the bass noticeably reduces. I'm guessing it's turning the amp down to reduce battery drain when stationary - is there any way to stop this happening using vcds? It's really annoying if you are in stop start traffic!! Many thanks Lee
  13. Picked up my car Wednesday morning and it's like driving a completely different car. The gear changes are now so smooth it's hard to tell when it's changing gear. The fuel economy is miles better as well, before the mechtronics pack was changed I struggled to get 40mpg - now, on one recent trip down the m6, I'm getting 55mpg. Can only assume that the pack has been faulty since the car was new - hopefully that's the last problem I'll have with it (fingers crossed)[emoji1]
  14. Mechtronics arrived today - garage now decides need a gasket that they won't get until tomorrow. Car won't be ready until Tuesday - that 3 days short of a month it's been with them and I've been driving around in a Passat. On the plus side the Passat is averaging 60 mpg [emoji1]
  15. Just got a call from Skoda - mechtronics pack not arrived yet - may arrive Friday - hope it sorts the problem !!
  16. Update - I refused to take the car back on safety grounds - the issue got escalated to the factory who watched the video and diagnosed the fault as the mechtronic pack on the gearbox which is a special order item [emoji17]. All being well I should have it back at the end of this week - let's hope it's fixed the problem....
  17. I've showed the service manager at the garage the video. Will be sending the link to the SUK representative when they eventually call me
  18. I've spent the last 6 days trawling Google and You tube and I am inclined to agree with you Phil. The problem is that there were no error codes reported by the on board computer so the dealership are finding it very difficult to diagnose and wont just go and try swapping parts until they fix it. I have raised a complaint with Skoda UK on the grounds of safety as I wont feel safe driving it knowing that it may well happen again. The problem originally occurred last Thursday when the ambient temperature was around 19 degrees but also happened the following morning when the temperature was around 7 degrees and i had just pulled off the drive so the gearbox was stone cold (so the viscosity of OIL (as per the original recall on the DSG box a few years ago) shouldn't apply to this.. Just got to wait for SUK now to see what they are gonna do about it. Lee
  19. Hi, Back in February I took delivery of a Black MY15 Superb L&K estate with DSG, 4X4 and 170bhp Diesel Engine which is very nice. What isn't nice is that the DSG on a couple of occasions has decided to effectively jump out of gear and leave me with no drive even though I have my foot on the accelerator. I have taken it into my dealer, who has had it for 6 days and has not been able to replicate the fault. Has anyone else had a similar problem with the DSG box - if so how was it fixed? I'm a little apprehensive having the car back as you can guarantee that it will fault for me within days which will then involve an argument with the garage to get them to re look at it. I have video footage of one of the times when the problem occurred but the dealership, understandably, needs to have their diagnostic computer plugged in whilst it is faulting. Should I accept the car back or should i dig my heals in with Skoda UK and not accept it back until they have diagnosed the fault as its a safety concern? Here's a link to the wobbly footage of the fault. https://youtu.be/-3xCzPU7238 Cheers
  20. The wife had the se 110 bhp 4x4 yeti in 2012 - swapped it for an l&k 170 manual 4x4 last year and can definitely recommend this engine / drivetrain. I've just Part exd my 13 plate Octavia fwd for a new superb 170 4x4 dash so have the same engine in both cars and I wouldn't choose any other engine
  21. I had a towbar fitted to my yeti with vehicle specific wiring loom ( a must in my opinion). There was an issue with the coding which the installer could not fix so they sent me to the manufacturer/importer of the vehicle specific wiring for them to address the issue with the coding. It turns out the the guys who fixed my coding also install towbars. If I need a towbars fitting to my octy 3 I will definitely use these guys in Telford.. http://www.gentow.co.uk Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  22. Stupid question - how do you update the maps ? Is there a URL you could point me to? Thanks in anticipation Lee Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  23. Picking my steel grey 2.0tdi elegance up this Saturday :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  24. We got the wife a new yeti se plus TDI 110 4x4 last year and it has been epic. My company car (golf gt TDI 140) is going back on Friday so I ordered a steel grey octy elegance with the only extra of a spare wheel... The garage (Robert Eardley in stoke) so far have been excellent again. Jus hope the octy lives up to the expectations I have after the yeti :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  25. If anyone is interested right connections (the vehicle specific wiring harness manufacturer) have their own tow bar fitting centre in Telford in the same unit as them. (http://www.gentow.co.uk/) - they seem a very competent and professional outfit Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
