I'm gonna put a couple of Picts up , had car on ramp earlier , not sure how to load Picts
-
So I take it there are 2 different sensors for it
-
So the power steering wouldn't work then
-
i take it if it the the wrong sensor with koyo rack the power steering wouldn't work at all
Different pump module required to work with that round sensor, I believe. Dunno about coding a Koyo module into a car that was originally TRW either? May be easy, may not.
-
do you need an adapter for it thenApparently the Koyo sensor looks quite different from the TRW one, round like this:
-
see if that's the problem how do u go about fixing that , funny feeling that's my issue tooI have a nasty feeling that you may have bought a Koyo rack, and your original was TRW? Sensing technology of the angle sensor is different I believe, and so it would need a different pump module to go with it.

cheers mate , I'll have a good look at weeken , car bleeding me dry just nowYeah, but unfortunately, the side you can get to from the wheel arch is the opposite side to this view.
Not sure whether you can get to the connectors from there, or from below, or if the bumper has to come off on a vRS. Others will know.
-
underneath the battery , u can get to it behind wheel archNo, on the pump module itself:
-
u on about contacts under the car mate at base of steering columAt the (physical) pump module there are three connectors, a big two-pin power connector, a three-pin one that goes to the angle sensor, and a four-pin that only has three wires used, two for CANbus, and one that is an ignition live 12V.
I'd be unplugging and inspecting that four-pin one I think, to check there is no corrosion on any contacts, and to check that that ignition 12V is actually there (when ignition is on). May as well check the other connectors while you're there.

Ur screen shot is same but it all blank n get a wee box in middle saying can't connect
-
It just fails to connect altogether when in steering angle section
-
tried bothAre you trying to do this with engine running or just ignition on? If the latter, try the former.
-
Get same screen but won't connect
-
I think your version of VCDS must be different to mine, I never see an 'angle sensor tab'. When I connect to module 44 Steering Assist, I see a screen a bit like this one. (With different numbers in the white boxes).
Then I use the buttons on the lower left for fault codes and measuring blocks. The measuring blocks one is what I'd hit to then find one for steering angle sensor output (column 1 of block 2). "Steering aid sensor angular velocity °/s"
-
Aye mate , connected to steering pump section (no fault codes) just won't connect when u click on angle sensor tab
-
Got a new steering rack fitted to 53 plate vrs , now got occasionally heavy steering especially when parking . Vag com can't connect to the sub section for angle sensor which I think it the culprit , if steering angle sensor won't connect to vag com is it goosed ?also can someone point me in the direction of one that won't break the bank , thanks

Wondering if when pipe came of behind boot trim connectors got damp
-
-
Quick one guys , see when u push stalk forward to wash rear windows does wiper keep wiping continuously till u let go the stalk ? Asking as I had to reattach hose in boot lid and my rear wash only wipes intermittently if I'm holding it in wash position and I'm sure it's meant to keep going till I let go stalk

It was second hand vrs springs that had been of a vrs for a few months ( got them in here )
-
I put my 53 plate vrs back on standard springs and was wondering if they take time to settle , i was parked next to another vrs on standard springs and mine looked a good bit higher
-
It's going in later to get all checked underneath (including subframe bushes ) and 4 wheel alignment. Hopefully get to bottom of this , scared to take kids n wife in car
