2011 skoda Fabia VRS cover
@Sweetcorne @UrbanPanzerhas a Mk2 vRS and should know exactly what the cover is like and has a VIN. The only difference is you have a CAVE engine car and he has a CTHE.

Halp! Sluggish, clunky, laggy Kodiaq.
Likely not the issue if it is a MCU / DSG issue as there are a growing number of, but, when were the spark plugs replaced, or have the techs had them out and checked if not replaced?

My 2023 MINI Cooper S Level 3 Electric leased from Motability which will be with me for 3 years & now a 2021 MG5 as a dog wagon.
@wyx087Car soaking inside and will need drying out. I was speaking to a driver before he went into a flood and he drove in and a lorry followed him before i got my window closed. At Stirling the CPS app shows in 48 minutes i took 30.002 kW & that was £10.50. (Correct for 30 x 35 pence) MINI App says 28 kW. Started with 8% and stopped at 95%. Started charging at home @ 11.12 am and app says finished at 01-12 am. That was 9% when charge started, it will charge to 100%. I will be interested to see how many kW the car shows and what my meter shows. EDIT / PS, Thursday morning. Car / app says it took 33 kW. Range showing at 100 %. That was 9% / 8 miles to 100% / 80 miles.

Disabled drivers and passengers or the infirm & issues with Public EV charging / Motability cars or from any source.
Ps. What is a Registered Disabled driver? I have never heard of that term. You get PIP DLA maybe. You might get a Blue Badge. You might qualify for VED exemption and exemption of LEZ for non compliant vehicles if VED class disabled. You might have had a Green Card and Registered Disabled. Many Disabled or Infirm do not get benefits, get on the Notability Scheme or want to lease from them.

@Graham Butcher sorry but really do you know what it is to be a wheel chair user or maybe limbless, leg or arm and use filling stations. As to the eldest sons girlfriend and not knowing her situation it might not be where she has no friends, family or carers or assistors. There are places without supermarkets and filling stations with staff that do assist at pumps. This is the issue really. People need to see how lots of others lives are. There are disabled politicians. But then they have Travel assistance if only by not having to pay out of their own pocket. Then they might have family and friends who are disabled. So we go back to not all disabled people do have social circles.

Wild weather. I pushed it know I could get a charge before Stirling heading north in a storm. Flooding roads and temps 0-2°C. 85 miles and 1 hour 47 mins. Cruise control on and behind a 65 mph HGV and Green + and that means no heating to arrive with 6 miles range and 8% battery. Getting 47kW charging speed. The 40 minute max charging time might not be enough. If it gets to 11kW charging or slower I will go on the AC until 99%. I have 80 miles to do and maybe snow ahead. This is as I expected with the MINI. Car is great in the wet and wind and I will see if this is as poor as the range gets or if even less in much colder weather. 80 mile range is acceptable and MID or Green mode will be fine when in Snow. Green + no use as even the heated seat is not available and to get demisting AC needs taken out of Green + mode. EDIT. PS. Got home with 9% / 8 miles of range through flooded roads, If not in an Electric Car i would not have gone through some of the flooded bits, or in a raised up 4x4 or Pickup. Even those if just a standard height without raised intakes might be in triuble.

Self Driving Cars
Mark Harper MP and Secretary of State for Transport is on about how soon we might see self driving vehicles on UK motorways. The technology being in place and it is just then needing to push through legislation. We will see. He will be the ex Secretary of State for transport and the state of transport long before self driving passenger cars are legally on the roads. The Government is desperate to get HGV,s driving in convoy though. So much public money having been thrown the way of some.

Auxiliary Battery for Auxiliary Heater
Most common with diesel's, or the heater runs on diesel. As to the UK very low temperatures even Anyone and Braemar has many a motorist / driver / vehicle owner that just de-ices and drives the vehicles there have as they come from a dealership. Often just on the tyres they come on. 15 miles or so til Diesels up to temp and maybe 10 with a petrol.

That would be because he is a journalist and will have been reading the same stuff on EV,s and disability as I have read. He has discussed it the same as the BBC journalists and those for the Sun, Record and the other Journals and Publishers. Motoring journalists have the same sources. It is not like there are many subjects within. Motoring. Head for thinking, feet for dancing and articles written because that is how you earn your living. But I am reading the results of the surveys I have participated in over the last year or more from various organisations. I am part of the forums and fill in the additional questions that come in every few months on the experience with the different public charging networks. I never heard of anyone bothering about the difficulties of the filling up of ICE vehicles other than on Disability Forums and in Lifestyle MAgazine / Notability,s publication. Also the WAV vehicles, costs and availability is an issue. Also the pathetic Range of EV,z / small batteries in the Light Commercial /mpv,s that are available.

Juddering low gears
A DSG, even a wet clutch one can ignore your request to change gear when it is not appropriate. Dry clutch ones doe to protect them selves. Sometimes a SEAT with the same box / engine as in a Skoda might not and drop 2 or 3 gears because in manual you changed down and it might near put you through the windscreen.

IMO like a tarts handbag. 'It does have', some tat attached to it that is just naff. The new MINI Cooper electric.- Roomster coolant change
Keep the cap on. If they have filled to MAX and after a run and coolant and engine up to temp the coolant drops between MIN and MAX that is fine because there is no FILL to the Level mark. The Pressurised system will bleed just fine and any coolant lost will be via the overflow if all is well.- Parking light?
^^ Makes no difference if it is the Parking Lights that are on with the indicator stalk up or down and the front and rear sidelights / position lights and one rear registration light are on as they should be.- Auxiliary Battery for Auxiliary Heater
Good for keeping mildew at bay and condensation all winter or all year in cars, campers, vans, caravans. Set to above freezing and can use very little electricity firing up as when needed as long as there is some ventilation as well.- Disabled drivers and passengers or the infirm & issues with Public EV charging / Motability cars or from any source.
Public charging & the difficulty of using existing chargers and hubs is an issue for many and one not being addressed quickly enough. It is getting attention from some in the media now. http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-67726590 http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-59549298 Pictures is at a Hub in Dundee where there is room, a canopy for cover in bad weather or even very sunny conditions. The cables might help many, the screens on the chargers still not great for wheel chair users or maybe others, not so tall etc.- Auxiliary Battery for Auxiliary Heater
When you can be near home or a 3 pin socket / extension lead then a Green House heater is all that is needed.- Jonny Smith Late Brake Show youtube vids, some are Interviews and many will be on other stuff transport related.
- Auto lock fr inside while driving
Best put those that might be inclined to open doors when the vehicle is moving into the rear and activate the 'Child Locks'. Do not lock an adult in the front unable to get out if you crash into a river, unless giving them a 'Luxtude car window breaker'. I am not sure they could be trusted with one if they are the kind that open doors when moving.- Jonny Smith Late Brake Show youtube vids, some are Interviews and many will be on other stuff transport related.
- the truth about electric cars
There are speed deduction devises everywhere and down your way likely no more severe than elsewhere. Hundreds, thousands will be go over them and every now and again some plonkers does it too fast or without a vehicle suitable to go over. Nearly everyone else with a similar car will know to take care. It is how things are. Most just get on with things and moan and some moan and the issue is really one that is how life is. Some will put it on YouTube or X as cluckbait. Like these flooded battery EV s. Time a warning ⚠️ is needed. Use your loaf. We built cars that might not be fit for purpose standard from the factory, and lower at your peril.- the truth about electric cars
Protecting batteries or under carriages of vehicles is not a huge engineering challenge and it has been done as has designing and building vehicles that can wade through water be them road vehicles , soft roaders or offroaders. Maybe some companies have baIIsed up and need back to the drawing board, the board room and to dealerships and employees. As to aggressive speed bumps, they are actually impassive and lay there waiting for those not slowing or dealing with what is there in front of them. They are a pita for emergency vehicles and maybe those low or overladen vehicles and maybe those with design or engineering issues.- Overfilled the oil - what should I do?
? Is it on the orange plastic ball when cold? Anyway, cold checks are to see there is oil. It is hot checks for the level.- Overfilled the oil - what should I do?
? Is the oil at the top ball when the engine / oil is up to 90*oC and parked on the flat and turned off. So at normal operating temperature? Not cold, not just warm. - The next generation MINI Cooper Electric 2024 & MINI Aceman 2024/25 pics & Videos.
