  1. Thanks for the pics- they were really helpful. I've actually found a CR version so cancelled the purchase of the PD. The pic of the cover you posted helped to reassure about this. They are saying it's £165 for road tax- maybe because of the age of the car (2008).
  2. Thanks very much for the posts. In the meantime they've just dropped the price for us considerably, which makes it a much more appealing prospect and it is now a big difference in price compared to the *genuine* CR models for sale out there. Should be picking up this evening... Just need to put up with the turbo lag, the noise, the fuel consumption, the extra road tax... ah well- hope it's the right decision. Having said all that, from what I've read, the PD sounds like a pretty decent engine anyway.
  3. Thanks for the replies. Dealer is adamant it's a cr based on the hpi report. Not sure this can be right. is there any other way of proving it? Sounded neither tractor or petrol like... somewhere in between. It did put you back in the seat though
  4. hi i'm new and haven't posted here before as i don't yet own a skoda but hope to rectify that soon... found a nice vrs diesel estate - been told it is a CR. fairly keen to buy but on doing a bit of research the CR only came in 2008 and this is a 2007 model. can anyone tell me a) if this is possible and how to verify this for sure? i've read a bit about some confusion between PD and CR models in the past eg http://www.honestjoh...dex.htm?t=73904 also, if it turns out to be a PD instead of a CR should I forget it and hold out for a CR model? thanks
