  1. I had something similar happen with my garmin GPS running watch in January - it tracked my running but everything was offset about 200 metres to the west. Turned out to be a global issue caused by an expired certificate of some sort - they pushed a fix - turned out to be the sony GPS chipset that was the common fault (rather than Garmin software) It would be interesting to see if any other users had a similar error
  2. Hi Just your own normal bolts from your car are fine. No special ones needed. I used the original Skoda bolts no probs
  3. Hey, my profile says Motherwell so central Scotland. If you're in Derbyshire, that's maybe a bit far.
  4. Skoda / VW / Audi Octavia Mk3 winter wheels x 4 Audi RS4 replica wheel design. 18 inch x 8J ET42 These are supplied with the spigot rings to make these centre bore 57.1 so plug and play for your octavia. I ran these on my Mk3 vRS but have now sold it and jumped to Suzuki so no longer of any use to me (Can also be 66.6 centre bore without spigot rings to run on many audis etc) OF course will also fit many other VW / Skoda / Seat cars but double check before buying. Matched with Nokian WR D4 tyres 225/40 R18 92V XL These are great tyres and regularly feature in top 10 winter tyre tests e.g. auto express. As you can see from photos they have 6-7mm tread left and have only done a few thousand miles. The tyres alone new are around £100 each I bought these to maintain the look of the vRS over the winter without resorting to smaller alloy sizes or steel wheels. The wheels are not show perfect, but that was the point of running them through winter so my OEM wheels were preserved. As such, one alloy is mildly kerbed. All alloys have some small salt pit marks and some “white worm” marks. These can be seen close up but not from a few yards away. There is no structural damage. See pictures for details. The centre caps were a cheap ebay purchase and are corroded but come with the wheels anyway. Easily replaced for a few quid. Asking price £425. Pick up only: I won’t courier so please don’t ask. Could perhaps meet half way if buyer is within a reasonable distance.
  5. No. We're still using candles up here.
  6. Happened in wife's 2014 Seat Alhambra too. It'll be exactly the same part I'd wager. Needed new actuator.
  7. Red, Black Roof, Beats sound system, Cruise and park pack. 5 door so it's not a total pain for occasional children carrying, though it's mainly for me. We've got an Alhambra for family duties. It was actually having the 60 PS Citigo as a courtesy car that made me realise just how anodyne some modern cars have become and lacking in chuckabiity. Wanted to get rid of vRS Octavia diesel as my mileage has dropped from 22k to 5 k a year with new job, so don't need and want to avoid any future DPF issues. Shame, if my Skoda was petrol 4wd, it would be perfect. Well specced but circumstances have changed.
  8. My Up GTI order is a 16 week lead time, which actually suits me as that will be bang on my VT point for my 4x4 vRS.
  9. Get your fingers underneath the trim just in front of gear stick where the little hatch can be closed. Pull, hard, but carefully
  10. Thanks, that's been helpful. I've found a whispbar set which have the same "smartfeet" part number for both alhambra and octavia, and then if I buy the 135cm bars (instead of 120cm), it'll be big enough to fit across both cars. Cheers!
  11. Ideally, I'd like to buy roof bars and footpack that would work on both my Octavia estate and my wife's alhambra. I'd then buy bars that would be wide enough to fit both as the alhambra is a wider car. Thule / Halfords say I need the 775 footpack for the alhambra and the 757 footpack for my octavia. Both cars have proper roof rails. I don't suppose anyone has the 775 footpack and can confirm / deny if it will fit both cars or not? Or offer any personal advice / experience? Thanks
  12. Just to follow up, I now have my Octavia back. They replaced the whole headlight and a control unit to fix the problem under warranty. The fix may be different in the Fabia but thought you'd like an update
  13. I've just put my octavia in for the same thing. There's been condensation inside headlamp so I reckon water ingress is the issue
  14. Thanks for above post - it gave me a clue. The tool release two tabs which I was able to do with a small screwdriver without the tool. For anyone that is interested, the tabs need released to separate the inner metal barrel from the black plastic retainer clip. The tabs that need released are at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions as shown by my finger in one of the pictures. Part number is 1KO 919 309 The problem is now fixed
  15. My cigarette lighter socket (240v) next to gearstick is fried. I've changed fuse which had blown and this resurrected the boot socket but not front one so I want to change it. Any idea how? I've had gearstick trim carbon fibre piece off and I can just about get a finger underneath to touch underside of the socket but I can't get see or feel what needs unclipped to release the socket. There's not really any room to work as far as I can see. Anyone done this on the mk3 before? Thanks
  16. Fraid not and I've lost interest in tracking it down. Maybe I'm getting deaf as I get older
  17. There have been quite a few folk on here who have had this, me included. Happened once, at around 7000 miles, now on 13000 and nothing since. Not quite a year old but I do carry some of the recommended coolant in the boot just in case.
  18. So noticed the other day the 12 Volt socket next to my handbrake wasn't working anymore for my phone charger. Through process of elimination prove it was the socket, not the charger that was broken and also found the 12 Volt socket in the boot was not working either. Suspecting a fuse problem, I removed glovebox and changed the fuse at position 40 as per owners manual (fuse was visibly blown). Puzzlingly , this fixed the 12V socket in the boot which now works fine but the 12V socket next to handbrake is still dead. Have I been daft and overlooked an additional fuse or any other suggestions? If not, I'll need to get it looked at when in for service in a few months. Thanks
  19. Prepare to be disappointed. Even though you've got mega low miles, I'm sure you'll get low-balled on the part-ex. I'd keep it
  20. Winter wheels now fitted, Nokian tyres RS4 replicas 18 x 8J ET 42
