  1. .05 OCTAVIA MkII ELEGANCE TDI PD DSG HATCHBACK, Fuel filler flap/door won't lock. The Actuator will unlock (rod wthdraws) if the the rod is extended but won't extend (to lock state) by key fob remote I have swapped Fuel Filler Door Actuator (1Z0810773 picture below) but no change. Actuator consists of an electric motor which moves locking rod in and out via worm screw wth no apparent mechanism to reverse the motor As there are only 2 wires to the Actuator, My guess is the locking action must involve a reversal of applied voltage to make the motor push the rod out, problem is i don't know how it is done. Does anyone have any ideas?
  2. I am looking for a unit to replace my Radio/CD/Satnav head unit. My '05 Octy mk2 (DSG) has a Nexus (MFD2) SatNav that does not show ether my front or rear proximity sensors in the display (I understand that it shouldn't) I was intrigued by the devices shown at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Stereo-DVD-Player-GPS-Sat-Nav-for-VW-Tiguan-Polo-Jetta-Sharan-Caddy-T5-DAB/193273063055?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 I am looking for a device that will Bluetooth with my mobile phone and use the buttons on my multi function steering wheel. Anyone out there have any suggestions?
  3. JR, I too am looking for a unit to replace my Radio/CD/Satnav head unit. I was intrigued by the devices shown at https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Stereo-DVD-Player-GPS-Sat-Nav-for-VW-Tiguan-Polo-Jetta-Sharan-Caddy-T5-DAB/193273063055?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 My '05 Octy mk2 (DSG) has a Nexus (MFD2) SatNav that does not show ether my front or rear proximity sensors in the display, do you know if the one you bought does (or could) ? I am looking for a device that will Bluetooth with my mobile phone and use the buttons on my multi function steering wheel. Anyone else out there have any suggestions?
  4. Thank you StickyMicky, The Thread you quote concerns Headlamp Washer Covers, as do most of the links. My problem concerns the missing Headlamp Washer Nozzles/Jets. This link concerns Left Headlamp Washer with Nozzle (China) https://www.skoda-parts.com/spare-part/1zd955965-left-headlamp-washer-with-nozzle-cn-35550.html I don't want the whole washer, just the Nozzles.
  5. I have not had my '05 Octy Mk2 DSG long (March 2019) and don't usually drive at night. On Xmas Eve night was the first time I remember that I used the windscreen washers with the lights on, I must have used the screen washers a number of times on this occasion because the Headlight Washers operated. The spray action did not look the same as I remember it on my previous '05 Octy Mk2 (not DSG version - the reason I swapped it) The next opportunity to do so I pulled them out to look at them. (Picture below) Both of my headlamp washer units appear to have lost one of their two nozzles, . At least it looks like they are missing as they don't look the same as replacement items I have seen on websites. Which I suppose explains the unusual spray action. Do I have to replace the whole washer unit to get the nozzles/jets?
  6. I have not lost the headlamp washer covers but both of my headlamp washer units (the mechanism that comes out) have lost one of their two nozzles, which causes the spay pattern to be ineffective. Do I have to replace the whole washer unit to get the nozzles?
  7. Sorry if this is in the wrong section. How do I get rid of the notifications that are beneath the bell shaped icon (when I click on it) that appears at the top of the screen next to the
  8. Sorry for the late reply. Yes I did, then I swapped the car for one with DSG gearbox!
  9. Mike, I should like to replace my Nexus (MFD2) head unit with one that has Bluetooth capability. Any suggestions?
  10. Mike, I recently swapped my '05 Octy mk2 Elegance (Manual) (65K miles) for an '05 Octy mk2 Elegance (DSG) (8k, yes 8K miles). My previous '05 Octy mk2 (Manual) had a Stream Radio CD player which showed my rear proximity sensors in the display My current '05 Octy mk2 (DSG) has a Nexus (MFD2) SatNav that does not show ether my front or rear proximity sensors in the display. Is this normal or is it a MAXIDOT? programmable item?
  11. Now that I have looked at the correct forum I notice that they are mostly held at Venue: The Snipe at Sutton, Alfreton Road, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire NG17
  12. I am sorry that I did not spot this earlier as I would have attended myself. Would your tell me date and location of the the next East Midlands meeting?
  13. Thanks to all who have replied/helped me with this. IcelinkPlus now installed in Nexus head unit. Removed Head unit, replaced CD changer connection plug with IceLinkPlus connection plug. Replaced Head unit with ignition switched on, as suggested above. No Security Code Required!!! {I had obtained the code anyway from local Dealer who charged me £15 to read it from my vehicle - at least I now know what the code is} Can now play iPod through Nexus CD/Radio/SatNav!!! Whilst replacing head unit noticed the glove box light was lit with glove box door shut (back of light shone through into head unit aperture) Removed glove box to discover glove box light micro switch arm was not being actuated by glove box door projection. Adjusted micro switch arm (added a piece of self adhesive foam strip.) Took 90 minutes to replace Glove Box ??? Many futile attempts to line up screws before I realized it is necessary to locate the bottom of the glove box first to get the screw holes to line up correctly - if not the glove box gets distorted and the door does not operate properly.
