  1. A quick update - if someone is interested, I can split them, so if someone needs just a one, give me a shout.
  2. Glad you confirmed it. Thanks. Now waiting for my 235/45 R18 fitted to 7.5J from Superb II
  3. I can confirm that these are the same bolts lengthwise. 😇
  4. Silly question - I'm planning on using my 18" Luxon from Superb 2 as a spare wheel in my Superb 3. Does someone know if wheel bolts have same or different length? I'm assuming wheel hub has the same thickness... But could we confirm if bolts are same? I plan on removing wheel of my SS3 and measuring how much thread is sticking out from the hub, and then taking the bolt to SS2 wheel and measuring again but hopefully I could save sometime if someone could confirm that the bolts from SS3 will fit SS2 wheel. Thanks
  5. I read somewhere last week, that the VAG has learnt their lesson and will be steering clear from these touch panels in new models. BTW - I am not sure if 280PS will be available anymore. I was almost sure that they will keep it (and 320) for Arteon's only but they are dropping Arteon as well. Also, I am a bit concerned that the pricing will be a bit, ekhm, silly...
  6. What sound dampening mat do you use for the boot area? As I have a cunning plan to fit full size spare wheel, meaning I have to raise my floor level by 25-30mm I am looking for solution that will not cost me arm and leg, will be safe (fire resistant) and will be stiff enough to take the weight of the stuff in the boot. Could you please propose something? I have been searching on internet but there are so many products that I do not know which one will be the best for my use. I have been thinking about using Rockwool RW5 as it is rather dense, perfect for sound proofing and easy to deal with. What else is suitable please - all suggestions welcome. Thanks.
  7. Back in June 2022 I considered purchasing Superb mk3 280, Arteon R or Kia Stinger. As the Stinger was only RWD, I focused on Arteon and Superb. After some time, I have decided to go with Superb because was about £7k cheaper and most imporatntly everything could be controlled with buttons, no stupid touch bars, to change temperature, etc. Long story short, I collected my Superb L&K 280 in March 2023. I have put 1200 miles so far, and believe it or not, I am very disapointed with this car. DSG is probably the biggest disaster as it is lazy, laggy, slow and stupid. If driving in Normal mode, getting to the roundabout/junction, unless I completly stop the car and give it 2-3 seconds, the car will set of with 2nd gear engaged, no need to tell you how much strain you put on clutches. Second annoyance is how quickly the gears are shifted to 5/6. If you are going around a big roundabout and you get to 25-30mph you will see 5th if not 6th gear engaged. Why is it annoying - imagine driving on a road with speed limit of 70mph. And here is the roundabout, so you slow down, go around and you want to accelerate to 70mph but your car is already in 6th gear at ~35mph, and if you push the accelerator down, nothing happenes, so you press it even further, and nothing happenes, and you press harder and all of the sudden car goes like crazy... The only solution to this is to drive it always in Sport mode. I won't mention stupid Start/Stop because I always switch it off. And when it comes to predictive ACC, I simply switched it off because the car will read ANY sign in its sight, and if you are on a motorway doing 70mph but on the slip road there is 20mph speed limit, the car will hang you in your seatbelts and another driver will make a garage of your back. I would imagine that Octavia mk4 is no less annoying. Back in 2012 I purchased brand new Superb mk2, and was very happy with it. As a result I got another Superb but I start to hating it. I do not wan to put any boxes, or devices that are suppose to "improve" ride quality for number of reasons. Sadly this experience aligns with what I read on forums. The only thing that is not as bad as I read on forums is DCC, which for the time being is OK. And thus the question about you hating Arteon as after owing the Superb I cannot explain how happy I am that I saved £7k and did not go with Arteon. And still I am extremly upset that Stinger was not available with 4x4 but if someone does not mind 370hp on rear wheels only, I'd stay clear from VAGs and got this Kia.
  8. Do you mind sharing, why Arteon SB was such a bad idea?
  9. So I checked it today, and with 225/40R18 I am about 12mm above the floor level. So with a bit of a scrap plywood (2x12mm) I should be able to fit 235/45R18. I am very tempted to get it sorted as I hate the idea of space saver (still better than the repair kit).
  10. Will have to check it again. I just wonder, if estate has the well a bit deeper by any chance???
  11. This is odd, as I tried my 225/40 R18 and it was fitting perfectly. Extra 10mm shouldn't make much of a difference, and I could always lift the floor with some plywood... I guess, I will have to take of one of my wheels and test it again
  12. I have a set of four 18" 7.5J alloy wheels from Superb mk2. And my Superb mk3 came with a space saver wheel, which I do not like at all :). So I have been considering using one of my mk2 alloy wheels as a spare. I would get a new 235/45 tire fitted and this way would have a "proper" full size spare wheel. There is a small difference in ET 44 vs 46 however and this makes me wonder if this is a deal breaker or not? Woudl it be safe to travel 200-300 miles for instance, on such spare wheel? What are your thoughts?
  13. I wish you all the best with cleaning these alloys
  14. Washed mine after its first 1k miles:
  15. To answer the questions - these are 100% Luxons. These were purchased with brand new Skoda Superb II back in 2012, removed them when was selling the car. This is what the car looks like with these: I prefered Luxons other Thermistos but as always down to your own liking... Thermisto have centre hub like off set/dropped with clearly visible lines, whereas Luxons have smooth transitions.
  16. I got ACC and other systems unavailable last week, grill completly clean, however there was a bit of a snow fall. It surprised me, as my Ioniq had it's grill completly covered in snow before systems relying on radar got disabled. Seems to me like a safty feature, not to drive on ACC in snow/heavy rain
  17. Hello, I have a set of four alloy wheels with tires. Thease are original Skoda's Luxon alloys, part no. 3T0 601 025H, 7.5Jx18H2, ET46, 5x112. Wheels are in a fair condition, not bent, but with a few scuffs, dents, scratches, etc. defo need some TLC - see pictures for details. Alloys come with tires which are not really suitable for use (two are just close to be illegal, one has damaged side wall, and there is only one with enough meat on it, but all are dated to 2014). I think £200 is a fair price but feel free to make me an offer. Any questions please drop me a PM. Collection prefered from Southport (near Preston/Liverpool). Delivery possible at ~£20 wheel each. Thanks. UPDATE - there are two wheels left, so if anyone needs a spare one instead fo the space saver, give me a shout. UPDATE - there is one wheel left, condition as for thepictures, asking £50 for it.
  18. I would disagree on this one. I loved magnetic boot light. Try changing the wheel when holding your mobile in one hand. Whereas with magnetic light you can stick it to the car body and have two free hands to do anything. Same with quick check under the hood, etc. This one I do miss.
  19. Thank you all for your input. I did some research and it seems that this may be a base coat/primer. It is extremly dissapointing as this is their top of the range model/version. This makes you wonder where else have they cut corners? EDIT. I am an idiot :). Must be poor light/LED from a mobile phone messing with my eyes. I checked again, and the car's engine bay is painted in the same colour as the body. However I think it misses clear coat. As a result it is not smooth, and if you look at it at the wrong angle it does look like black But after another inspection it seems fine, however not as shiny as the rest of the car, which I can live with. This is what it look to me like when using torch from the mobile phone, you can see wheel arch, engine mount siting on a black paint. Even with a proper shine from decent camera flash light messes with your senses: But o a closer inspection, and getting my boss aka wife, we get to the conclusion that I need to visit specsavers
  20. Help please because I am massively confused. I collected my 2023 Superb Estate a week ago form a Skoda dealer, car is supposed to be brand new. However on a closer inspection I have noticed that the engine bay is painted black whereas the car is graphite grey. What is going on? I thought that the engine bay is always the same colour as the car body but in my case bonnet hinges are partially body colour/black. Am I the only lucky one or are there more people with a similar experience?
  21. Service can be done within 1000miles/month from last service anniversary, if memory serves me right :).
  22. My Superb was manufactured on 7th December 2022 and delivered to the dealer on 23rd January 2023 :). Was stuck in Germany till 7th Jan 2023 if I remeber correctly.
  23. I am not sure if this will help in any way but... I ordered my car on 25th June 2022, L&K Estate, 280PS. Originally car was to be delivered around 48 weeks later. However I got an email from the dealer in November that the car will be manufactured on first week of December. And in fact it was - date of birth 07/12/2022 :). However shipping took awfully long because the car was only to be delivered on 23rd January 2023. And because I fancied '23 plate I only collectet it on 2nd March.
