  1. Oh I have a list!

Poor economy (way below quoted figures)

177 doesn't feel nearly as powerful as the 170 in the Yeti (and my previous Octavia VRs's x3)

Retractable towbar is not really fit for purpose on the R Line

Gear ratios are too high solo and towing

Not as stable as the Yeti when towing

    Truly awful dealer/buying experience

Happily I LOVE my new caravan which offsets some of the dislike of the Tiggy ... but watch this space .....!!!!!!!!!

I take it your not one of the 97% of customers who would recommend Arnold Clark or part of the 94% customer satisfaction. Makes you wonder how they arrive at these figures. Suspect your heading back to West End Garage?

  2. I have to say I hate the sight of mine .... the most dissappointing car I've ever owned.

    Oh well ....

    Bring back the Yeti.

That's a pity Ian given how much you liked your old Yeti.

  3. Having swapped my Yeti 170 Elegance for a Tiguan 177 R Line ... to accomodate a heavier caravan ... preferred the Yeti.

Can't really put my finger on why.

Having also swapped a Yeti for a Tiguan for the same reason........I prefer the Tiguan as I think it is more refined and better built. I also prefer

the dash layout , but then we are all different.

  4. No sarcasm intended I assure you. The reason I changed from a Yeti to Tiguan was that I tow a caravan and if I wanted a bigger one I needed a car with a heavier kerb weight.

Prior to the Yeti I had a Bora 130pd. Sold with 136k on the clock and had no problems. Before that a 110 Passat sold at 126k again no problems.

In fact the only VW I had problems with was a 1973 1600TE fastback which I bought of Work colleague. Just about ruined me trying to fix it.

  5. Personally I prefer the Tiguan, l like the larger boot also, I prefer the dash but again its a matter of taste. I like the fact the radio and controls are placed higher and easier to reach.

I went from a 2wd 110bhp Yeti to a 140bhp 4motion, so not comparing like for like as far as performance goes. I do miss the great fuel consumption of the Yeti but knew fuel consumption would be less and can live with it.

During the year I had the Yeti I could find no fault with it.

  6. I had a 110 bhp diesel and my average mpg on the computer was 58. Towing a 1200kg caravan got about 30 mpg. Wouldn't liked to tow with a 1.6. Driven 210 miles in my 140 bhp Tiguan today and averaged 54 mpg for the jou

A lot's to do with how you drive.

  7. For sale a set of 4 steel winter wheels and tyres. new last winter and only done about 2000 miles. The tyres are Nokian WR D3 215/60 R16 XL. The wheels are VW/Skoda 16x7 they were for my Yeti which have now sold.

Looking for £400 collected from West Lothian or meet some suitable.

Also a set of VW Caddy hub caps in black, £20 + post.

    Bob.

  8. To be fair to Inch , I have dealt with them for years and never had a problem most of which was before they were taken over. Recommended them to a friend at work who was happy with the way they treated him.

Could go on about the Passat I bought from Trust Wishaw which mysteriously was written off before I could collect it. There are bad stories about most garages. I'm sure Arnold Clark will not disappoint. Good luck with the new car and caravan, you getting it from Knowepark?

  9. Well done, you should find the 110 bhp fine for towing. I used it to tow a coachman highlander 1200kg. The only reason I'm changing my car is it gives me the option for getting a heavier caravan in the future.

  10. Nice to meet you tonight bob. Don't forget to give me a yell when the yeti lookalike arrives and I'll code your towbar. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 4

Great to meet you too. Should be able to recognise your car now.

  11. Snap ... have also just ordered a Tiguan ... a 177 TDi R Line .... will be a better match for the new van we have on order and offers 100Kg noseweight limit.

Will miss the Yeti a great, just a pity it is so light.

Take you ordered it from Inch.Used them for years and had great service.
