Disable alarm for ferry
Hi, The easiest way to do this is mentioned in the official manual. If you stand by the drivers door and use the keyfob to lock/unlock the car as normal you will notice that the red led inside the car near the door mirror will flash. When the car is fully alarmed the red led will continue to blink on/off every couple of seconds or so. This signifies the car inside/outside is fully alarmed as you would normally want to leave it. On a typical ferry trip (or on the back of a transporter!) the alarm will trigger as the car is rocked by waves etc. To disable this stand by the drivers door and use the keyfob to lock the car as normal but, now press the lock button again, twice within two seconds of locking, you will notice the red led blink on/off a few times then go off and remain so. This visually tells you the alarm will not trigger by gentle rocking (try it) on the ferry crossing but that external things like door opening etc is still operational. The twice within two seconds might need just a little practice to get the timings right. If the red led still blinks on/off try again.

Wireless charging problem
My Samsung Ultra was exactly the same at first, when car was new in late 2024. I tried all suggestions from here... Try without the spigen case, try the opposite way round, try the dealer 🤣, software updates, try upside down etc etc etc. Nothing worked. Then suddenly, not precisely sure when, but it suddenly started working. Same car, same phone, same case. It's been perfect ever since. The only thing I would add is that even when it's working it's very poor/slow charger. I've driven 100's of miles with it on charge and the amount of charge the phone receives can be bettered with the proper charger at home in a couple of hours.

What are these red LED's?

What are these red LED's?
Hi, I have a 2024 Skoda Superb Mk4 (I call it Mr. Hyde) for obvious reasons. For some reason it has suddenly started showing two lit red LED's; one either side of the SOS button in the pod above the rear view mirror. It still shows the green LED; I suppose to say the SOZS function is working. I questioned this with my local dealer with the expected answer... not sure, if there are no other warning lights on the dash just ignore it! They went off briefly driving back from town, but then came on again a few miles further along. They must be trying to tell me something? Does anyone out there know what?

Tailgate not opening
Yes. Good luck.

Tailgate not opening
Hi, I had a similar 'fault' earlier in the year. You feel like a total berk waving your foot around praying for it to open! My dealer had it in and diagnosed a faulty 12v battery. I was very sceptical, but the battery was changed and hey presto, the tailgate operation was perfect. Another strange effect was that suddenly the tailgate struts were MUCH smoother/quieter in operation. Good luck.

Hill hold often has turned itself off
My 2004 Skoda Superb SEL (which I've christened 'Jeckyll & Hyde' because you never quite know!) has amongst a long list of defects that my 2015 L&K never ever had, the intermittant fault of often turning hill hold off. Earlier this year it did have 'the' software update that was supposed to correct the many (well documented in these pages) gliches present from new. It probably was better behaved after this? but by no means cured. However the intermittant hill hold is very annoying. Skoda really should have fixed all the software problems by now. Perhaps they need to get Rivian to sort this out properly once and for all? Also how often, if ever, have any of you had 'over the air' updates? In our car never, whilst friends with other branded cars tell me they have perhaps 2 to 3, or more a year.

Ventilated seats working properly?
I had s Mk3 Superb and now have a Mk4. The seat ventilation now is definately nowhere near a good as the previous car. In the Mk3 I sometimes had to turn the control down from maximum (or even off!) if I felt a chill. Not this one, the control remains on maximum and I still wish their was more.

Tow bar problems
I picked up my new Superb SEL last October. I had specced a factory fit retractable tow bar, which cost me £1105 in total. I always smile when I read of all the problems people have when they decide against the factory option and go their own way. They ultimately seem to end up paying more for a load of hassle and/or an inferior product? Mine is just brilliant. It works flawlessly with a Thule 2x e-bike carrier. The hardest part I find is connecting/disconnecting the cable. I am always amazed at how easy it all is although as an ex-engineer I still think of all the loads it takes with the carrier and 2 e-bikes over our pot-hole eneven road surfaces! I hope everyone does get sorted out but my advise through experience is to take the factory fit option.

Tailgate switch closing problems
I got mine back from the dealers yesterday and it now seems to work perfectly! They fitted new boot lock/latch to cure the 'not locking shut correctly' and diagnosed a faulty 12V battery as being the cause of pretty well all of the other problems. I was a little sceptical. But, as stated everything now seems to work fine. The hatch opens and closes with any combination of the various methode available, so, well done Skoda. I may be imagining it but the battery does not have any cover fitted (can't see anyway how it would be fitted) but a niggling memory seems to remember one. Also I need to find out if the new one is an EFB, AGM, or whatever so I can set my charger up correctly if I need it. As an asside the noise the hatch makes opening/closes sounds different, smoother perhaps, with the new battery. I do still miss the additional warning brake light flashes and beeps I had in my old Mk3 L&K Superb when opening/closing the hatch.

Tow bar bike carrier queery
Thanks for that.

Tow bar bike carrier queery
I have a Superb Mk4 with a factory fitted retractable tow ball. This summer I intend to use a Thule Eastfold 2 bike carrier to carry our 2 Eovolt electric bikes. Will I have to change any settings when I do this? Will it affect the reversing camera? Will the emergency brake be activated when I try to reverse (I hope not, it's rather severe!)? I'm assuming the trailer option in the menus is just for trailers? Can I just mount the carrier and bikes and drive away as normal? Any comments from other forum members with experience of this would be most useful.

Unconvincing SatNav!
Another annoying downgrade from the previous model is how late it is telling you where to turn off. Driving to somewhere with multiple motorways and A roads like like the Trafford Centre is particularly bothersome and to a degree dangerous. Previous version gave you plenty of warning - much better!
