  1. We bought ours at the end of the pcp, we owed £3900 on it (14plate elegance 21000 miles). I looked around at what else we could buy and at new pcp deals but our car has never once let us down and the wife loves the heated seats, we'll keep it now till we either win some money or the mortgage is finished (5 years) then give it to our daughter.

  2. Big thanks to Nikonite for the free sensor, it was fitted today and has sorted the problem, my original one was the same as nick74's, my mechanic asked me if I had spilt some sort of fluid or grease as it was all over the sensor.

He dried everything and fitted the new sensor and its good as new again.

  3. Hi I am having occasional problems when turning right, steering feels weird and the yellow steering wheel light and abs/tyre pressure lights are illuminated, done a scan with a hand held vagscanner and its saying steering wheel angle sensor is the problem.

Without stripping the air bag and wheel off to find the part number does anyone know what the number is? I have seen some used sensors on ebay but not sure which one to order.

Car is a 2006 vRS estate.

    Cheers, Daren

  4. Had the timing belt and water pump done yesterday at the garage mentioned in my last post, over the moon with the service and price, when I dropped it off I asked how much a new diverter valve would be as the car is on 92000 miles now and has been remapped in the last 6 months, he said he would fit a new one and only charge for the part (£33).

So all in for belt kit, water pump and diverter valve it was £333, I asked how the old belt and pump looked and he had them on a tray in the garage for me to see, they still looked in good condition, although they were 4 years old they only had 39000 miles on them, I will be back later in the year for a full service £180 including genuine parts.

  5. £459 is a bit steep, it's the 2nd time the belt and pump have been changed, car only done 40,000 on this belt but don't want to risk expensive damage by not doing it, I know a lad who changed the belt only on a golf and had a pump seize 15 months later, going to hunt around for an independent garage to do it.

  6. Its not just new cars either, I was looking at a 10 plate octavia vrs diesel in blue and it was £10995, it had history and 65000 on the clock, in the same garage was a passat cc 2.0 diesel gt (170 bhp) with slightly less miles same history and same price.

Asked the dealer what my 56 plate vrs estate was worth as a trade in and walked away, he said it would be in the region of £3500 against either of the above cars, he had an 06 vrs in for £5995.

  7. Hi, had my 56 plate 2.0 tfsi vrs remapped in november and the car has ran like a dream with the exception of a pcv replacement, it is smooth and has loads of power from low down in the rev rangs, however driving home from work tonight it was driving like it normally does until I slowed for a roundabout, when I went to pull away there was nothing there, it drove ok and there are no dash lights on but it feels as if the turbo has just stopped working.

I checked for any strange noises and tried it again but its just not pulling anymore, it drives just like a 2.0 normal petrol car.

    Any suggestions?
