  1. My understanding is that it says 0 on the plate if the car isn't pre wired for a tower. Skoda however sell a kit if it isn't pre wired so surprised dealer is saying factory only
  2. I dont think so - he's fitted tow bar's before but just with this car said he can't get the tower in stock the standard one in stock (for other models - not the vRS) but said he can't order the correct one - i.e. the one mentioned on the previous post 5E3092155A
  3. Hi - my dealer is telling me that no Skoda towbar is now available as an approved accessory. Looks like I have to get an aftermarket for my new vRS due to be delivered this week. Does anybody know can I can an aftermarket that will function like the OEM tow bar with knowing the trailer is attached and turning off rear parking sensors, rear auto braking and also changing stability control to account for the trailer? Any recommendations for a decent removal option appreciated
  4. Im picking up a new car in January- it is likely I will experience infotainment issues or will the new cars all have the updates needed?
  5. Related question- whats the smallest wheel size that can be used on a vRS TDI Mkiv? Ive one on order for January delivery and am pondering if I should get winter wheels and tyres for it. I see they come with 18's in other markets but would the 17in wheels fit too?
  6. Diesel sales have dropped here but a lot of new Octavia's TDI are still being bought. EV sales are flying it, but depreciation seems to be massive on them. I think you could be right about 4x4 - looking at the new Superb spec they have TDI 150 FWD, and TDI 190 AWD options- I guess the facelift Octavia VRS might get that 190 AWD, but due to taxes here based on CO2 it would be way too expensive - I'd guess €65k
  7. Thanks- have asked them if they will stick a pic of it up on their facebook page
  8. Just ordered a new vRS Combi TDI. Irish distributor has made cosmic green available for the runout diesels - they are saying after the next orders are built that its petrol only. Have found cosmic green on the Czech configurator as an 'exclusive colour' but not able to find a picture of an actual one - anybody ever seen one? Went with base spec - which in Ireland is quite good as includes winter pack, 19in alloys, spare wheel. Didnt have ACC so have spec'd that but keen to understand if there are any other must have options?
  9. We are told in Ireland that the vRS 2.0 Tdi is being dropped and the facelift will be petrol or iv only. Am tempted to buy a pre facelift diesel now - wonder if its the same in England or other other markets? The petrol 245 is great but in Ireland the tax makes it 4k dearer than the diesel so unless the co2 falls dramatically with the facelift I cant see the vRS selling many here in the future
  10. Diesel sales in Ireland are dropping massively - think they are around 20% now versus 70% a few years ago- ultimately customers I think tend to buy whatever the dealer is pushing but diesel works for a lot of Irish drivers as its still cheaper per mile to fuel and most of the flee (i.e. new and old combined) are diesel powered. My guess is that diesel sales will rebound a bit in the UK with 2030 now being 2035 but really its down to what you local dealer is pushing imo
  11. Was in with dealer this week - in Dublin that is - and he was telling me the 80 is to be replaced with the 85 with an extra 50km's in range and more power. He thinks they will be the same price. I see an L&K 85 is available in the UK- any experience if the range is actually better?
  12. I like it too - I love the bigger boot and dont mind it a small bit narrower, and the styling looks fine. Negatives include double arm rest unlikely to have same movement as current one and the tablet looks way to large. I see they are going with fake leather - sorry but that not as good as animal skin. Hopefully its built a bit better than the MKIII I had which wasnt a patch on either MKII's I had previously with lots of rattles and squeaks that the dealer never fully resolved. The big issue I see coming is price- I'm in Ireland and bought a Sportline 2.0 TDI 150 bhp manual in 2018 for €35k rrp - roll forward to 2023 and the same car is €50k rrp - with much less chance of getting the 8% discount I got in 2018. I think the 190bhp four wheel drive will suit me but I fear it will be a €70k car spec'd up. As the 2.0 engines dont seem to MHEV's the CO2 will likely be high which will attract massive taxes here. Surprised they can meet Euro 7 without hybrid technology
  13. I immediately thought they looked great - until Ive read the above comment. Recon you will have to see how they work in real life- cant be worse than the sliders in my Tiguan anyway.
  14. Interesting that you have that button yet don’t have park assist as I’ve just a line of blanks there
  15. It’s a brand new car with factory camera and rear sensors but I don’t have a P button in front of the gear-lever but maybe I can get one retro fitted
