Hi dude its actually 60mph on a m/way for trucks but companies get them set at 56 for good mpg .The company im with have all there trucks set at 50mph max and we see other companies starting to do this as well. https://www.gov.uk/speed-limits

Gosh IMO i hope they keep it at 40 for us truckers, Me and the lads at work are paid by the hour not the load so were quite happy to tottle around at 40 because it cuts down on the work we have to do. And after 14 years with the same company and well paid for the little work we do i'm one that will not be speeding. As we say in work our job is a nice drive spoilt sometimes with a delivery LOL. The company recently got us a whole new fleet of trucks, the new volvo i-shift and there now autos which makes things even better. And as far as people being stuck behind me,well i don't care at all, until they start paying my mortgage and bills they have no say in my manner of driving, And if they're not educated enough to know the highway code and speed limits for all types of vehicles that they may encounter on their daily drive well what can i say.!!! As you were saying about some companies paying speeding fines for truckers to encourage them to speed does the company take the points as well ? These are the same as our new fleet except ours are white.....and the steering wheel on the good side.LOL Don't work hard...Work smart !!!

I fixed your quote ...... What it boils down to is that the vast majority of drivers work on the basis that the rules don't apply to them. There are some who do stick to the rules, but not many. I assume your not a holder of a HGV licence.?

Most people still do not realise us truckers are restricted to a max of 40 mph on a main A road, in fact my company have put sign on the rear of our trailers to try and "educate" some car drivers of truck speed limits. But alas some people will never learn.

Yeh legally a hgv is restricted to 56mph on the m/way but don't think for a minute that they can't go a LOT faster. But as it being up your bangle ..that's not on.!
