  5. Alan, can u not just carry on displaying the disc?
  6. Cool So VRS plates not worth that much then Plenty to buy from DVLA Why not just buy another from DVLA?

  8. Just seen on DVLA selling plates: [xxxx VRS] £250 [xx VRS] £600 Would u be willing to pay at those prices? What is the most sought after [* VRS] out of interest? Cheers
  9. Lol Hunty Ref buffing - I guess each to their own! We were in a rush, just waited about 5mins? Yes u maybe right, Wardy Car wasn't detail as we were short of time We used a dry cloth Malcster Unsure if a quick detailer will last thru winter... Threadbear Love Auris for what I wanted it for (cheap to run and reliable) Certainly not a fun car though - lol
  10. Cool We didn't have time for a proper detail this time - but Chris did say we try out the Tsunami as it's suppose to be tough and long lasting
  11. Since house move, not had the space to detail my own car So took it up to Chris's and as usual did a splendid job prep'ing my car for winter for FREE! 1. Alloy spray 2. Rinse alloy 3. Still mucky MORE alloy spray/scrub ! 4. Bilt Hambert Surfex spray (Chris said my car was far too mucky for a simple foam spray!) 5. Rinse 6. Foam spray (Power Maxed) 7. Rinse 8. Bodywork too mucky, more Surfex spray! 9. Rinse 10. Giant wool mitt hand wash with warm water 11. Gigantic shaggy pile to dry 12. Seal body work (Power Maxed Tsunami) 13. BSD on door shuts and alloys 14. Clean glass with clean-glass-stick! Car ready for winter!
  12. Lol According to WHICH? Both Ford and Skoda supported by AA Not sure about insurer Hastings Direct?....
  13. My dad always auto renew his car insurance, I know not a good idea... After asking me to find somewhere cheaper and to look at his service bills, I discovered the following: 1. His Ford manufacturer service now include full breakdown cover for free 2. He already got his own RAC full cover at £200 - eeek! 3. His insurance renewal was £540 4. Found him a cheaper insurer at Hastings Direct at £270 - but includes basic car breakdown So now he got 3 breakdowncover: 1. Full RAC expires in June 2. Full Ford expires in July 3. Basic cover expires in Sept Can he call all 3 to see who gets to him first?
  14. I feel for u buddy As I said, can't understand SKY not giving customer who wants to stay what they want... Then heavily discounted offers to them AFTER the customer already sign another contract. Still I happy what I have now: 1. Cheaper TalkTalk unlimited broadband 2. Free Sky TV bundle for 10months
  15. Nice But is it legal? Is it similar to buying a hacked set top box from the car boots ? Oops! Are we allowed to discuss such topic on here???
  16. Funny u say that They rung me a week after I left but by then I had signed up to someone else - can't understand why they wait til someone has left??? I have a NAS server setup now Plus Kodi app on my PC - can't wait to give it a try...
  17. I tried that when I told them I was leaving ....in the end they did knock off about £15/month - but wasn't good enough for me so I just left ...
  18. I left Sky 2 months ago They keep ringing me from Derby and I finally answered They offered a 10month free TV bundle for £10, but I get £100 credit = free Hard to verify who they are on phone, but I took the plunge and signed up (no bank details exchanged except name, address , last 2 digits of bank a/c) Just checked - my Sky TV is working within minutes! Just wondering if anyone had same offer (or am I in trouble with a scam now)???
  19. Right Have resigned to the fact I prefer to 'just' use my NAS to stream to Chromecast ... And no other streamers seem to support AVI etc So I just have to accept to convert my 'most' watchable videos to MKV (or MP4) using H264 (x264) to a decent quality :( - and audio to AAC/mp3 Leave rest on backup disc to stream from PC (using VLC) from time to time... Another streamer will be just as non-supportive of AVI as my Chromecast. And buying another powerful NAS with Transcoding function just too much money to throw at... But Thanks all for your help anyway
  20. Thanks I using freeware "Any Video Converter" Dont really want to manual labour for hours and hours converting AVIs Plan was to store all videos on the NAS (be it MP4, AVI or MOV from mobile phones etc) and able to play direct from NAS to Chromecast without buffering.. In the meantime, only workaround is to use VLC (plays most video format on my laptop) and stream to Chromecast....not idea as I want to take the laptop out of the equation
  21. Apparently MKV not supported on Chromecast - but it plays fine from my NAS to Chromecast Its the Chromecast unsupported formats of: AVI and MPG Been told to rename MPG to MP4,MKV or MPEG and it will work - tried that and it didn't Last resort was converting the AVI to MKV and MP4 - but either the quality is very good and the file size huge - or same size as original file and quality very poor :( Maybe I should find another video converter? Am looking into Amazon Fire Stick and Roku 4 - both seem to not support AVI neither :(
