  1. Thanks, be good to understand if there a few people who have an older unit successfully upgraded to 402x fw and v8/9 maps?
  2. Just added a 'Skoda' tax disc holder - can't stand dealer holders and worst still it was proper stuck and resulted in the screen needing a good clean! Not the best pics, but you get the idea! Nice and cheap off eBay and actually has a decent quality feel to it, despite clearly being 'home-made'... It has a 'Pleather' feel and decent weight, with a well printed logo - subtle and understated...just like the Superb!!

  5. Thanks Chris, really good to know the correlation between map version and CD numbering! I'm just searching around for the best place to 'purchase' the maps and may possibly settle on v8.0 (CD 7690) for my current 381x firmware? Be interested to see if the experts concur?
  6. Ok, so I went for the safest FW upgrade to start with - 381x - which has worked fine and I can now see the 'Version Information' option under the Radio Service Mode i.e. when you press the Setup button for about 10s. Here are my details; Delivery Part Number: 3T0 035 680 B HW-Version: H41 SW-Version: 3814 Map Version: 7074 So peeps...how far can I safely go in terms of FW revision...?? It looks like I have 'B' revision (disappointing) and therefore an upgrade to 402x would be a risk? Although I note that 'adamal' mentions earlier in the thread that there are A and B revisions of 402x...?? I'd also appreciate a reminder on how the map version...mappings...work i.e. what version maps am I currently running and presumably maps aren't dependent on FW revisions as such...?? Look forward to your expert thoughts!
  7. Do you have an update to whether these LED DRLs are still running strong and worth the investment?
  8. At least you have a spare...I only have the foam and electric pump... I may look to buy a space saver kit separately, anyone know where to pick them up at a reasonable price? £130 for the kit seems a little steep or do we trust that car tyres are more reliable these days and foam is good enough for temporary repair?

  10. Mine do a test when they start up (in the dark of course) - left, right, up and down...makes me laugh every time...along with the speedo/rev dials 'dance'...!!
  11. Yep, 3 x AAA batteries in the torch, so nice and easy to replace! I agree, charging for new maps is money for old rope but most car manufacturers and sat nav companies do it... It's not an issue for me, I will try and get it done for free, one way or another and if not I don't see it being a massive issue...
  12. I agree, charging for fw and map upgrades is cheeky...I'm still mulling it over so may try 'other options' or simply insist they do it for free! On another note, I got my boot torch through the post today and although listed as used is in A1 condition...pics attached. It has two LED lights in 'torch mode' and then a standard light on top which acts as an additional boot light when stowed away!
