  1. No way to prove it. I asked them to reproduce the damaged part when I arrive to pick up the car. I know how it looks like thanks to @Wino
  2. It looks like it! shame there's no way to find out now. thanks again!
  3. Thank you! But I cannot see how it can be damaged by only changing the oil and the filter? That entire piece is bolted and not removable it seems? How could they damage it?
  4. sorry! 1.2TSI from 2010 I called them and they told me its not that o-ring that failed. Its the o-ring from the oil filter "body" which isn't easily accessible.
  5. Hello all! Happy new year! Yeti 1.2TSI from 2010 I serviced my car at an official skoda dealership. Oil + oil filter change. The first night after the car arrived, there was oil on the floor. I took the car back, and they are telling me its the Oil Filter "body" O-ring. They are asking me 90€ for a 5€ o-ring + labor. I thought the O-ring was part of the oil filter. When you buy an oil filter, it comes with a new o-ring pre-installed. Am I being duped here? I'm about to pick up the car in 1 hour. Help please!
  6. Went to another dealership do get a second opinion. The problem was a dirty throttle body. It was identified as a reoccurring issue and skoda has an oficial code issued to all dealerships.
  7. The skoda dealership can do that, correct?
  8. I'm not going to lie. I like the 3008 GT line a lot. I also enjoy the Tiguan R-line. They both look the part!
  9. Sorry. Fixed it. Not, not in the UK. After talking with the dealer some more, I was reassured to just purchase any unit with the reference in my opening post. The programming does the rest. So I just purchased a working used unit for around 60€. It came from a Golf 6. I'll let you guys know when it arrives and is assembled. If the fault happens to be anywhere else on the car, at least I only spent 60€. About the turbo pipes, I'll have them checked. I said the car loses a lot of power, but its only when the ESP error pops up. thanks for the help
  10. 369 pounds. I could buy 4 used ABS control units for that price! Thanks for the tip though.
  11. I have an OBD2 cable I used in my old fiat stilo. I already downloaded the software, I guess It doesn't hurt to try.
  12. The dealership is quite far away, so I will try to download the VCDS software to get the code. thanks for the help
  13. I will try to get the VCDS software to read the code.
