Fitting wheels with different ET

Featured Replies

I bought some Audi S3 wheels off a guy at work over the weekend and after giving them a good clean I fitted them today. It was only when I came to fit the last wheel that I noticed the ET on my standard alloys is/was 42 and the ET on the new alloys is 32. Is this ok, or are my wheels going to fall off??!!

Bit of a noob question I know and as I've already fitted the new wheels I'm hoping it doesn't matter...:o

Will be fine Rob. A lower ET means they will sit further out in the arch. Seen plenty of Golfs with Audi wheels, inc S3s like yours

Good choice anyway - get some pics up

Cheers Steve, I can now take the car for a quick test drive:D. I'll get some pictures up tomorrow after work but I've got to admit I'm not convinced about the look of them at the minute. They also weigh a bloody ton so they might only stay on the car until the weekend!

No worries matey :)

Yeah, not the lightest of wheels, it must be said. You got the Golf lowered yet? They'll look better when you do, trust me

See, here's a pic. Looks good I think you'll agree :D

The golf looks sweet with those wheels on :)

yep lowered on Koni STR.Ts but its not that low. Is that one of your (many) old car, if so what suspension set up is that??

Afraid to say that's not one of mine Rob (I have no idea what you meant by that comment! ;)) - just a quick image pulled from UKMKIVs.

Looks to be slammed on some coilovers though  - 80mm+ drop by the looks...

Steve

I know what you mean about the weight of the S3 alloys, they are by far the best wheel for a fabia or octavia though
