Also my firmware version says 1004, is it safe to upgrade with the torrent version to 1020 ? or is 1004 the newest for Skoda ?

If you get the firmware image and record it to a CD then the upgrade works fine, have done mine. Not sure off the top of my head what the current version is. Be careful to follow the instructions.

Try and enter a UK postcode if it doesn't work then you have V1 or V2 maps, V3 has support for the postcodes. I know you probably aren't in the UK but it is a simple check method.

I have found out that 6160 is V2 and 5844 is V1

Hi Stu - I know this is slightly off-topic but I thought UK post code searches where not availble on the columbus?

My octy is due for delivery at beginning o June, what firmware and map versions do you think I'll end up with?...

That's anyones guess.

V3 fixes the postcode issue.

I'm not sure that Skoda have released, via the network, the V3 maps however VW have. The map disk is a three brand on one DVD so if you can get hold of that then it will update your current maps. Something to take up with your dealer I would imagine.

What does 1020 bring to the party then?

Not sure to be honest Ian. Feel free to give it a go.
